In honor of the Kills playing Nashville tonight, here is the demo CD they sent to Indienet years ago when my roommate and I were booking shows there as a "job" that never actually paid us any money (@annihilatethispeej shared this pain before us). Anyway I think three people came out to this gig and @egcameron opened as one of the first Forget Cassette shows? Some of you new Nashville people may be surprised to hear this but before you all moved here most shows like this were lucky to have ten people in attendance but we kept at it and still held our breath waiting for all of you to arrive. If you're looking for a living, breathing example of authentic country/roots living with their hearts beating out on a worn guitar, Bobby's Idle Hour is the one place you have to visit while in Nashville. It's real, folks. You never know who you'll run into there...not famous faces, but people who wrote songs for Marty Robbins and recorded an album with The Rolling Stones. You'll hear some stories you won't believe, but they're true (mostly). And the music...they'll pass around a guitar at some point and it will make it all worth your entire trip.

It's cash and beer only so make sure you're packing some green backs. And if Chuck is bar tending when you're there, ask him to play "Let 'Er Buck."
