How to buy luxury skincare for less!💷
I’m a massive believer that you don’t need to spend a lot on skincare to take care of your skin. That’s why I started this blog in the first place - social media is full of luxury brands and hefty price-tags, so I wanted to show you how drugstore brands can be just as good. However, I can see why people would want to splurge on beauty every now and again, so let’s look at how you can do this without burning a hole in your pocket!
1. Mad about minis
An easy and affordable way to enjoy high-end skincare and beauty brands is to check out mini sizes of popular products. Elemis, for instance, sell a lot of minis, ranging from cleansers, peels and moisturisers to suit all sorts of skin types. Mini sizes tend to range from 15ml to 30ml, so they should last you about a month if used regularly.
2. Search for sets
To get more bang for your buck, try looking out for skincare sets and bundles. Drunk Elephant, Glossier, Ole Henriksen and more often sell sets containing 3 products for reasonable prices that target all basic skincare needs. These sets are often based on a particular skin type, which makes it all the easier to find one that’s perfect for you.
3. As sweet as honey!
I’ve been using the Google Chrome extension ‘Honey’ for a few years now, and it can help you save some cash when scouting out skincare online. It works by showing you valid codes and vouchers at checkout, bringing to your attention deals you might not have found otherwise. Granted, you won’t get 50% off or anything as tasty as that, but look after the pennies and the pounds will look after themselves, right?
4. Dear Santa...
Finally, an old but gold solution is to ask for luxury skincare or make-up for Christmas or for your birthday as part of the celebrations. Maybe your parents could snag you the glitzy gift you want, or your friends can chip in a set amount each to get you a more high-quality present than when everyone’s buying separately. Get writing your list to Santa now!

The Working Girl's Guide to the Summer GLOW
It’s that time of year we’ve all been waiting for. Less makeup, less clothes, beautiful weather, and glowing skin. Winter is finally over and it’s time to prep our mind, body and skin for the ultimate summer glow.
Here’s your Summer Guide
BOdy
Internal Glow
I know, it’s summer so that means more margaritas after work & more mimosas on the weekends. But if you want your skin to remain healthy, hydrated and glowing, you can’t forget to consume eight or more cups of water a day!
For my healthy girls, try drinking two glasses of fresh celery juice every morning. Not only does celery juice help with weight loss and gives you energy, but it also does something amazing to the skin. Your skin will be instantly brighter and glowing!
Internal glow comes from within. Continue to eat and drink healthy but remember to stay positive and stress-free. Stress and other hormones can cause problematic skin. The only thing we want problematic this summer is not going to every bottomless brunch our city has to offer!
Skincare
cleansers
Those hydrating cleansers and thick creams we used in the winter will be no good for our summer skin. Find a lightweight cleanser and moisturizer that will be as effective but less greasy.
For cleansers, we recommend a jelly base. Jelly base cleansers are lightweight, doesn’t strip the skin and will still have your skin feeling hydrated and clean.
Try Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cleanser or Drunk Elephant No. 9 Jelly Cleanser. Both cleansers are formulated with natural key ingredients, and will help remove excess oil, dirt and makeup.
Toners
Toners often get left out of our routines, but this is an essential step to keep for our summer skin appear healthy. Toners will make your pores smaller and tighter and most toners can help control oil.
Try Ole Henriksen Glow 2OH Dark Spot Toner or Ole Henriksen Balancing Force Oil Control Toner. Depending on your skin type, I can guarantee this will be a crucial part of your skincare routine. If you have very sensitive skin, these products will not be best for you. I would recommend something more suitable for Sensitive Skin, with less active ingredients and fragrances. Try La Roche-Posay Thermal Spring Water as a toner. It’s active ingredient thrives from natural spring water in France (I know, very fancy). This thermal water can also be used as a hydrator on hot days.
For the girls on the go that wants a cleanser, makeup remover and toner all in one, try Olay’s 5-in-1 Daily Facial. These cleansing wipes are quick and easy and are perfect for traveling. Just because it’s warm doesn’t mean you should skip moisturizing. Find an ultra-light moisturizer, ideally with SPF. Drug store brands like Neurtrogena and La Roche-Posay have great options for all skin types.

Makeup
The summer glow is all about skin and a natural look, so there’s no need to cake on your face. In the summer I typically go for the “Boy Beat.” This look has very minimal makeup and it emphasizes on your features. Here’s how you can achieve the look.
brows
Try to fill in your brows as light and natural as possible and set it with brow gel so it stays in place. In order to achieve this natural Boy Beat we want to lightly conceal our under eyes, blemishes and redness. Typically I don’t suggest using foundation during the summer months, as it can clog your pores. But, if you insist on using a foundation over a concealer, find one that has a light to medium coverage. We recommend Glossier or Nars Natural Radiant foundations.
BLUSH
Find a blush that is soft and natural looking. Liquid blushes are the best! It melts into your skin and gives you a sun kisses look. Our trick is to apply lightly on the apples of your check and lightly run across the bridge of your nose to the other side of your face. Have you ever seen someone with a slight sunburn on their face that made them looked sun-kisssd and flushed? Yeah, that’s the look we’re going for!
HIGHLIGHTER
What’s a glowing skin routine without highlighter? Try a liquid or cream based highlight to get that glow from with in! There’s so many brands that provide non-powder highlighters, go raid your local Sephora and Ulta Stores!
Setting Spray
Lastly, setting spray. Mac Cosmetics has the best setting sprays for the summer. The Prep + Prime Fix Plus comes in its original hydrating form but also in Gold Light (my favorite), Matte, Lavender and so many other options!

Happy Summer!
