∞ — The look on his face made it as if she had told him the key to life. “Really?” Oli glanced around before making his way over to the fridge and rummaging around. “I don’t have..let’s go to the store. I want to see it happen.” He picked up his phone and stuffed it into his jacket pocket before making his way back to where she was. A huge smile on his face just from the thought of the phenomena. “If we’re quick we won’t be recognized or do you know somewhere else we can get it from?” He reached up to rub his nape, starting to feel a bit embarrassed over getting excited from what she told him. “Or I could just google a video of it, you know?”
she can’t help but giggle at his response. she finds his excitement endearing, engaging, contagious, even. though realistically, it doesn’t take very much to get yorae excited - or to respond with any strong emotion, for her ability to sense and project the world around her runs through her every vein. and while that could be seen with impression, it causes her many a problem, too. nevertheless, right now she’s smiling widely and ecstatically, especially as a certain class of memories comes to mind - some of the few happy moments from her childhood, that is.
“it’s true! i always hated raisins when i was a kid. but my mum never let me have anything but raisin bran and oatmeal for breakfast when i was a kid, and she’d get mad at me if i didn’t eat it all. so when she wasn’t looking, i’d gather all the raisins to the edge of the bowl and take them out, and put them in my pocket,” she pauses, interrupted by her own laughter at her childhood misadventures.
others may not find it so funny nor gleeful, but she does - when put beside some of the heartache she’d experienced in her early years, she’s learned to look back on these simple and somewhat peculiar times as though they are treasures.
“ah, sorry - anyway, when i got back to my room to get my bookbag and go to school, i had a designated place where i hid the raisins so she wouldn’t catch me. and well - i had to do something with them, right? my science teacher told me about the grape juice theory, so i bought a bottle a grape juice at lunch, took it home, and tried it. and it worked! ah, oppa, it’s so cool.” when he mentions googling a video, she shakes her head, declaring, “no, you have to see it for yourself! let’s go, a trip to the grocery won’t hurt!”
