I've recently attempted to fully come out as gay and trans* but every time I stay after class to ask my teachers to call me Oliver I chicken out. How do I just do it?
You ust have to work up the courage and do it! Maybe write out a letter for them to read saying that you’re very sorry if it’s an inconvenience (which it really isn’t and shouldn’t be considered one) but you are a female to male transgender, and being addressed by your given name makes you uncomfortable, and if they could please consider addressing you by your chosen name.
If the letter idea doesn’t do it for you, try having a friend with you while you stay back for support. Remember, the worst they can do is say no, and then at least you can say you tried!
