5 Random Facts - Oliver Jericho
1. Along with his blog The Writist, Oliver is active on Quills ’n’ Thrills, a website for aspiring authors. It’s known for its huge archive of original stories and fanfics, a good place for independent authors to get their work out there. There are book club circles, which are networks for writers to get connected and build skills. Oliver’s a part of some circles relating to fanfics, which he’s known for. Sometimes he’ll post original stories if he’s feeling confident about it. His username is olivwrites3x and he updates and uploads on a somewhat regular basis.
2. He likes making lists, specifically for writing down creative ideas. Depending what he has on hand, Oliver would jot things down on his phone or on a notepad so he can refer to it later. Most of his notes don’t make sense to anyone else except him but sometimes even he’s a bit baffled at what he writes down, especially if it was done at three in the morning. He also likes to write lists when he’s bored or needs inspiration when he gets stuck writing a story. Oliver also has a tendency to buy a lot of notepads and memo pads so he usually carries a spare if anyone needs one.
3. Sometimes his sisters Isabella and Hazel refer to him as baby brother since he’s the youngest of the three. He considers himself at an advantage because while they are triplets, no one gets his name wrong since he’s the only guy. However there are times when people assume that Isabella and Hazel are twins and leave Oliver out, which used to bother him when he was younger but not so much anymore. He may be the youngest triplet, but at least he’s the tallest now, three inches over Isabella and two over Hazel, who used to be the tallest before Oliver began his growth spurt.
4. As a side hobby, Oliver likes to collect comics, specifically The Adventures of Ozzy the Mousy Bunny & Tulip the Tabby Cat and Terrence Tabby/Uncle Tad comic series. He acquired some of the oldest issues by chance at a thrift store, lucky find as some of them are worth hundreds of dollars. His mother had a small collection of them that she used to buy at a drugstore after school and that’s how Ozzie and his friends became the first fandom he got into. Ever since the premiere of the new and long awaited TV show Ozzie and Orla, Oliver has been struck by inspiration and is posting a lot online. As someone who likes to write angst and hurt/comfort fics, Ozzie and Orla is a goldmine for stories like that. In his comic collection included the graphic novel trilogy Portal to the Past, the inspiration for the TV show.
5. Oliver is into fountain pens but he has a bad habit of misplacing things so its no surprise if they pop up in random places around the house. He finds them cool and likes the aesthetic. Sometimes he’d post reviews on his blog though he wouldn’t consider himself an expert on fountain pens. His favorite is the Inkwell 1000, which is a good entry level pen that’s affordable, looks fancy, and comes with a set of inks in different colors. He’s no master at calligraphy and lettering but Oliver likes to look at posts because he’s into script handwriting. Maybe someday he’ll give lettering a try but he’s not too confident as his writing tends to be illegible half the time. To him, his handwriting’s like a really messy cursive-like font.
