Olmec basalt colossal head, found in Veracruz, Mexico (1200 - 900 BC).  It may depict a ruler, as the Olmec stone heads have very distinctive headdresses and facial features, and no two are alike.  He is wearing a protective helmet.

Olmec Heads. To many, evidence of an African presence in the Americas. To others, the Olmec are an origin civilization that left us a collection of sculpted heads in locations of no known special significance. And like the Easter Island moai, they haunt us still.

رؤوس الأولمك الضخمة هي منحوتات من صخرة واحدة و تمثل رؤوس بشرية مستديرة بأحجام كبيرة. نحتت في من صخور البازلت في حوالي 900 ق.م و هي تمثل الحضارة الأولمكية. هناك 17 رأس أولمك معروفة كلها تمثل بشر ذكور من سن كهول بخدود مدورة و أنوف مفلطحة ذي خصوصية السكان الأصليين في المكسيك ولاية تاباسكو وفاراكروز.
