Hi, I'm curious to know what Rey said to Ben in small writing lol in the recent "death is a lie" update. ;)

She said “I want to be intimate with you. Right now. I’m tired of waiting.”

Forgive my ignorance but is Ben dead in your comics? He doesn’t look like a ghost but he and Rey talk like he is.

I considered this after watching the movie and thinking on it. One challenge I set for myself was to work within the confines of the canon. Even if I think the canon is silly, it’s a fun challenge for problem solving and thinking creatively, and is a skill that will serve you in many aspects of your life (especially at work!)

In the movie, we don’t see Ben as a Force Ghost. So my question was: where exactly is he? He COULD be a Force Ghost, but the canon isn’t clear. So my idea what that he’s dead but still tethered to Rey because of that dyad thingee they’ve got going. Which is why only she can see him but why he also doesn’t have that fun ghostly look all the Force Ghosts have had.I sort of borrow the idea from a show called Due South, which I’ve talked about before on here. The main character regularly talks to his father, who provides advice and they also work out issues they had with each other when they were alive but never got around to discussing (his father was murdered). It’s revealed that he’s not the only one that casually speaks to dead loved ones, and I always thought it was a neat.

Anyway, I think Ben is in an incomplete state of being dead. The comic will explore that because I think it’s neat idea.

Hey there! First of all, I LOVE your Rey comics about her growing up. Would you ever consider doing something like that for Ben? Like perhaps when he was with his parents (cute pilot Han and Ben moments please) and training with Luke? Something before he ever started to turn to the dark side and become Kylo... because I would totally buy that comic.

Thanks! I’ve started writing a script for a young Ben Solo comic. I’ve got some decent scenes. They key will be trying to give him some happiness in there too. Show his struggles, sure, but also hopefullness.

I’ll try and work on that this year.

When TLJ came out it added so much good canon that I stopped it to start a new comic.

Hi! I absolutelly love your comic "Death is a lie", the story is so complex and beautiful, you really give me hope after the rise of Skywalker that maybe Rey and Ben's love can conquer even death ❤ I only wanted to congratulate you because of your story and on your drawing way, they are very cute and creative. Finally I wanted to ask when are you planning on release the next part, I'm sorry I know it's not an easy task but I really love it and I can't wait to see what happen next!

I’m actually off work this week, so I’m hoping to have the last 4 pages of part II up today or tomorrow. Normally these pages take several hours to do so I can only update once a week, however. And after part II is done, I still have part III, which are the last 20 pages to wrap up the story with a nice happy ending.

I am off work this week. This is actually the most time I’ve had off in years where I didn’t have to travel somewhere. It’s been pretty OK if not for that crippling sadness. I keep myself busy with the comics.
