A very lousy pic of a very special night. Jireh’s first World Cup! Tonight’s Gross Happiness Index is 10 (Jireh)+ 8 (Graham) + 7 (Me) - 5 (Isaac) = 20! It was way too late for Isaac and he was tired and cranky and going crazy. So I let him eat peanuts even though I usually don’t give in to their hunger pleas after meal times. I’m still getting the hang of making choices to optimize family happiness. Meeting everyone’s needs is impossible, so I told Jireh,”You know, we take care of each other in the family. So sometimes you get what you want and sometimes you don’t. Tonight Isaac had to stay up late so we could watch soccer. At other times, you have to compromise ok?” Being a mother/leader/prime minister is so tough! #omchooxgoals

Some people have asked if homeschooling is stressful because I have to teach every thing myself. But to me, it's not stressful because i believe our minds are shaped by all our experiences. And that includes taking a walk in Botanic Gardens, stopping to smell the flowers, observing a Plantain Squirrel, discovering the streaks of colours on his belly (black and white stripes at the side, and the underneath is a bright mustard yellow!) and being amazed by his acrobatic skills. Their minds are learning things from nature that I can't teach. The most important thing I do hope to teach is about our Lord Jesus Christ, and I'm slowly realizing for me to do that, I have to first let myself be changed and transformed by Him. They say education is about the child but what I'm learning is education starts with me! #omchooxlessons #omchooxgoals #ohchooxnature

Night time swings got all the feels. Also the night I declare if I can stay in a park and picnic all day (food prepared for me of course) I will be the happiest! I was never the kind who thought about such questions so it surprised me a little that the idea came to me. And maybe I can actually make that happen, even if just a little? Homeschooling has got me worried if I spend enough time on school work, which is silly in a way, because before this I never worried and they learned so much; but also there is that PSLE at the end and I can't possibly play catch up at the end. #ohchooxconflicted #omchooxgoals
