1, 1&, & 18 for the fic ask game!!

1: Which of your fics is your pride and joy?

Hmmm, such a tough one! On one hand, I think arrowheads, arrowheads, arrowheads has some of my best writing, but it didn't turn out the way I wanted to because I didn't give myself enough time to flesh it out as much as I wanted. There are parts I didn't get to but they don't feel like they warrant a whole new chapter. On the other hand, I think the actual writing in drive me home is some of the weakest among my published fics, but it was the dumping ground for a lot of little bits and pieces that I've cherished for a long time, so it's definitely the one that feels like it's the most personal to me as a writer. Still, I think DMH is probably the one I'd call my pride and joy, even if it's not the most polished or well-written. It has so many passages/references/lines that are have been so meaningful to me for so long, and I never intended for them all to go into one fic, but they just fell into place so perfectly, and I don't think I'll ever be able to capture a magic like that again

17 (I assume?): What genre is the easiest for you to write?

For most of my time as a fic writer it was angsty character studies LOL, but even that's been hard lately because I've actually been in a pretty good place mentally for the past few months, so I haven't really needed to write for escapism or venting the way I used to. Despite that, I feel like I haven't really found myself being able to write well in any other genre, so I've just been chugging along with more angst haha

18: What's a trope you want to write but haven't written yet?

Oh my God sooo many!! I love a non-traditional take on a soulmates AU, and I've been feeling really drawn toward this one lyric for a few months now: "I am calling you my soulmate / 'cause that's what you are. / No, I'm not thrilled about it either." I also love a college AU and have a few in the works but they're all shaping up to be quite long so none are even remotely close to being published lmao
