Late in the evening, a phone call came in from the stable where Eclipse was being kept. The owner of the farm's number popped up on the caller ID, something that could either be a very good sign or something very bad. It was rare for her to call Atem, so most likely it was something relatively serious.
The moment the ranch owner’s name appeared on Atem’s cell phone, he knew something was not right. Normally, the ranch owner would text him updates or ask him questions upon Ruby... But for him to calm so suddenly like this... The former Pharaoh was starting to worry.
Sure, this could be nothing and it’s just the ranch owner wanting to tell something personal about Eclipse but... He couldn’t help but shake the feeling that it wasn’t the case.
He answered the phone and pressed it against his ear. “Hey, it’s me... Everything okay?”
Dear Gods, he hoped everything was all right...
