I have no idea how this works, but it is based on Tron and looks very cool.

Car Sharing in Milan
In the last few years many cities around the world have shown important changes in terms of mobility. The rise and growth of many car sharing services has been an important factor in changing the way people move inside the city. Visualizing and analyzing data from carsharing services and other forms of urban mobility allows for a better understanding of how the city is used and helps to discover the most prominent mobility patterns. Below is a series of visual explorations of data collected over the time span of one week from one of the main car sharing services in Milan called Enjoy. We started this project as a small experiment to investigate through different techniques how urban traffic patterns evolve day by day and the main characteristics of use of the service.

Beautiful & Simple Journal of Cities
Yvan Rodic Webpage of Cities & Photos
Widely considered one of the most influential movers and shakers in fashion, his original blog and more recent Visual Diary receive approximately 1 million hits per month. Over this short period, Yvan has been at the vanguard of one of the decade’s most remarkable trends. When he began in 2006, street style blogging was still in its infancy: in part it is thanks to his work that it has subsequently become a phenomenon.

Messages for Japan
Map of Messages for Japan
Following the 9.0 earthquake and tsunami in 2011 Google set up this page to send support to Japan.
"Since the crisis, people around the world have sent countless messages of hope and support to the people of Japan. Some of them showed sympathy for the victims. Others encouraged us to look forward. Reading these messages—many of them in English—you can’t help but feel the support coming from around the world. But we wished more people in Japan could hear from these supporters and feel that same sense of hope—even if the senders spoke another language."

A Survey of the Flooding in N.Y.C. After the Hurricane
Hurricane Sandy came at the New York metropolitan region directly, a frontal assault of wind and waves along hundreds of miles of the coast. More than 900 buildings were destroyed, and at least another 12,000 sustained major damage, according to initial estimates by the Federal Emergency Management Agency
