It is that time of year for the infamous Jack-O-Lantern mushroom - Omphalotus olearius a major cause of poisoning among untrained mushroom enthusiasts. To an untrained eye it appears similar to chanterelles. It will earn you a quick trip to the hospital and liver damage for life. I recommend always going by the rule- "When in doubt, throw it out." | A peculiar quality of this fungi is bioluminescence.
