#filmedit#movieedit#moviegifs#moviememe#cinematv#once#once 2007#glen hansard#marketa irglova#the swell season#john carney#2000s#made by carolyn#swell season were a last minute addition to nff this year#as a lover of Irish Delight Glen Hansard i told myself i'd catch the start of their set before heading over to another stage#within 30 seconds of the first song there was no chance i was leaving lmao joke's on me!#and he brought out a young irish lad he'd just met to sing a solo song in the middle of their set and it was a highlight of the festival#anyway this led to me re-watching once last night#i sometimes forget about this being a comfort movie to me <3#marketa irglova is i think what makes it work#and one of the reasons i think the movie is so much better than the stage production#which i have seen twice i think ?#the Girl actors in the stage show tend to go very manic pixie dream girl and can be kind of annoying#but marketa is so real and authentic and i just want to be her friend :')
