Adventures through the woods. || Flashbacks.
Wendy looked around, not sure how she had gotten where she was.. But she seemed to have wandered off into the woods. Taking in a deep breath. She began walking even further. No reason behind her motives, but there was nothing else that she had to do.. So taking a walk seemed like the best idea.
The crackling of leaves and sticks under her feet, the smell of the trees, the light breeze, and the sun shining down on her were all factors of the walk that had made it even better. She could hear birds chirping in the distance, they sounded absolutely beautiful.
Wendy meets the boy in her stories. || Flashbacks.
It had been a long day.. A fun, but long day. A lot of stories, of a boy named Peter Pan were told. Her and her mother could go hours talking about someone who didn't even exist. It had been time for bed, so she walked over to her window and opened it. Almost out of habit. Moving to her dresser, she took out her hair, and placed the hair piece onto it. Grabbing her notepad, and pen, before she made her way to her bed.
Placing her dainty frame onto the bed, crossing her legs at the ankle as she sat there, writing in the notepad. Making lists, keeping herself organize. Out of the corner of her eye she thought she had seen a shadow moving across the room. But when she looked up, it was gone. Going back to her book. Oblivious to the world around her, she continued to write.
Tinkerbell might one of the most underrated Disney characters that there is, especially considering that she doesn't speak once throughout the entire Peter Pan movie. However, she was the character I immediately thought of when deciding Care's alter-ego for this verse. There's the obvious fact that they look alike but my reasoning goes much deeper than that. The Disney frachise saw the oppertunity behind this secondary character and delve further into her development by making a series of new movies directly surrounding her.
When Tinkerbell first found out that she was a "tinker" as opposed to one of the other types of fairies, she stubbornly fought against it. She tried everything in her power in order to "switch" her talent. The initial way that she refused to accept her true "identity" reminded me of how Care struggled with being turned in the beginning. They were suddenly thrust into a life that they never really wanted, one that wasn't "glamorized" by the society they lived in. But once they did accept it, they both excelled beyond anyone's expectations. Tink quickly rose through the ranks and became one of the most well known tinkers. Care gained control over her urges and now serves as the poster girl for a successful transition into vampirism.
Tink is probably one of the most protective Disney characters. Her loyalty to Peter goes beyond natural reason and though she is slightly agressive when looking out for him, it's one of her best qualities. This fits Care perfectly. She often sacrifices herself in order to protect the people she loves. Despite the fact that Peter doesn't actively show Tink how much she means to him, she continues to look out for him. I think this is another huge parallel between the two. Care often gets pushed to the side by the other things happening in Mystic Falls and very rarely attention is paid to her when she is going through something. But this doesn't change the fact that both of them do their absolute best to take care of everyone else, even if they're falling apart.
They both have tempers, which is something that I love about the parallels between them. They're not scared to call someone out when they're mistreating them. They tend to beat themselves up when they feel they haven't done a good enough job. They're kind to everyone they meet, until given a reason not to be. The similarities between the two of them continues to astound me which is why I think that out of all of the Disney characters, Tinkerbell fits Caroline best.
Things are awfully quiet around here.
"I forgot how creepy this place can get when it's like this."
