One Deal Begins...Another Ends
A jump in both memory and time does little to affect a being originating from the Ether beyond this world.
Not even His lurch forward, the cold and rising tension within His claws, His own desperate searching for any possible place on the ground that His Friend could have crawled away to (or died), or His demands for an answer can make the slightest of indents within the mind of one overcome with mounting panic and guilt.
Likewise, none of what has transpired between the Anons and Him is even remotely close to the forefront of their mind.
Cricket releases their grip on Him at once and begins a frantic search of their own, for the one being that they owe and have given life itself to. Whatever danger existed in the immediate vicinity would no doubt be alerted to their location, as they carelessly toss aside any objects or furniture that happens to be in their way and search and move and claw through every single nook, cranny, and piece of debris and rubble that Preston could possibly be hiding under.
All the while, they begin to call his name, the call getting louder and louder as time passes, their voice becoming shrill through sheer desperation.
It will be a wonder if they don't accidentally injure Preston in their blind panic, or attract a far worse fate to mark Preston's end...
