The cigarette was being shifted from side to side between Ziggy’s lips. An old habit he developed back in high school. The car ride was silent all that could be heard was the traction of wet pavement against tires and windshield wipers. Ziggy wasn’t one to reject being in a world of silence when it comes to his late night drives, but this type was far to unnerving. Since his loud mouth passenger wasn’t running her mouth at all that whole night. She was just there staring out the window as droplets of water hit against it. The occasional crinkling of shopping bags would sound out as she shifted herself in the seat. No matter how many retail trips or spending his hard earned cash, wasn’t going to brighten up Madeline. She was still upset over the fact that finally finding their father, that he would just get close to them in order to use them. He had known that was going to be the result long ago, but Ziggy could never bring himself to rub it in Madeline’s face. Ziggy gripped the steering wheel tightly as he was finally ready to offer to take her some place else. “Hey Madzie, wanna go and hit up that new bakery mom was talkin about? They’ve must got some jammie dodgers. I know they’re you’re favori-” he stopped due to the fact that her hand had hit his chest harshly. Nearly knocking the wind right out of him. “What the hell Mad-” she soon turned to him with seriousness in her eyes. 

“Pull over.” she commanded. 

Ziggy looked confused. “What for, did you want to g-”

“Pull over now!” she looked back out the window.

Ziggy pressed his foot harshly on the brakes, causing the car to make a skidding noise. “What in bloody hell did you want me to stop fo-” With the that sound of the window rolling down, Ziggy saw what caught Madz’s attention.

“Well hello there stranger! Need a lift love?” Madeline said in her normally cheerful voice in order to call out the attention of the blue haired singer.
