⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Nona nona nona!!!! Usually by the time you hit the third in a series, there’s not much for a reviewer to do—you’re either in or you’re out, and you know if you like it or not. But The Locked Tomb is a bit special. The three books are tonally very different. And I’d say this one is far more tonally in the “Gideon” camp than the “Harrow” camp. It’s a little less wildly experimental, and those who thought they wouldn’t make it through another five hundred pages of second person can safely press on. And well I’m in. There’s a great interview with Muir where she says “‘put these pieces together’ I cackle. ‘That’s not how novels work!’ My readers remind me.” I kind of wish there were more novels that let my brain feel like it’s detangling a particularly snarly knot of thread and give me that deep satisfying rush of dopamine when the pieces fit together. I devoured this book and now I’m off to update my thirty page Google doc with all my new theories. #bookstagram #oneflesh #oneend #nonatheninth #thelockedtomb #wedobones (at Arlington, Virginia) https://www.instagram.com/p/CijN6iRIFuT/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
