Today we’re back at 2 Harbor Road so that I can show off the interior of Skinny’s Scrap and Gas, originally a grocery store/diner rabbit hole in @one-plumbob‘s world, Pleasant Isle. The exterior shots of my opened up version of the rabbit hole can be found here, and includes this image of the front entrance:
which I’ve decided to use as a transition shot leading into the reception area shared immediately below:
As I mentioned in the last post, these builds and renovations are all work’s in progress. Although some of them I’m more “done with” than others, this build I already intend to decorate a bit more. For example, I’d like to add a plant to the table in the forefront (something tall that I will pretend is meant to be plastic, although as we cannot water houseplants in ts3 they all kind of are) of the above shot, and also some advertisements and automotive related wall art on the wall beside that same table.
Here are some other angles of this room:
I think I will also change the walls in the reception room to the same paneling that’s in the garage (which you will see later). I don’t mind it for the room through the arch there, but after looking at these I don’t like that plan white paint (I think this is paint and not wallpaper) running through out the whole interior like that.
Through the arch I have a little cafeteria set aside for my employees. Skinny will primarily work alone, but maybe I’ll use that one mod by Arsil to have someone back behind the counter. Additionally, one of Skinny’s nephews is an odd jobs man, so I plan to have him occasionally help out.
I’m going to go back in and add a counter, sink, microwave and mini fridge to this room. Not sure what I was thinking when I first set things up that I didn’t do that in the first place. I might also remove one of those tables. It’s not going to be enough people working there to occupy them, especially if that book shelf attracts so many sims that the read there instead of the reception area, and I have to replace the arch with a specified locked door using MC.
Behind the counter on the same side as the arch:
Through that door is Skinny’s office.
If I don’t use Arsil’s mod, but Zerbu’s instead, the computer will also be a part of the person who works the counter’s job. If I decide to set up an inventor’s table (writing this is making me think about all the ways to make this place more usable, lol), I can pretend Skinny’s employee orders parts and other inventory (scrap) while on the clock.
I’ll share the interior images of the garage next week, but for now, laugh with me as I once again realize I forgot to place any lights in this build, lol.
