There were lots of things you had planned for your trip to Beijing.
Monday had been the forbidden city - the highlight of every Beijing vacation, apparently. Tuesday was the imperial palace, Wednesday was Tiananmen Square to go to Mao Zedong’s mausoleum and the National Museum of China
And Thursday, apparently, was getting hopelessly lost at half past midnight with a dead phone and nineteen yuan which equated to about four dollars.
You weren’t entirely sure how you ended up in this situation. Or, maybe you were. You had been following a tourist group through the streets when you saw a particular spot in the park that you wanted to photograph. You strayed for barely even three minutes and the whole group had vanished into thin air.
That was three hours ago. You had already cried a little - twice. Your Chinese was.. alright at best but you were determined to figure this out on your own. You were very strongly opposed to looking like a dumb foreigner lost in China. So you wandered around aimlessly, pretending like you knew where you were going and that you were actually interested in the buildings you were positive you’d already seen three times.
You pulled your phone out of your pocket and pressed down on the home button like that would somehow magically make it charged up. Instead, you were met with the dead battery symbol and disappointment.
You let out a very loud sigh, startling a few other stragglers around you.
Embarrassed, you turn on your heel and walk between two of the restaurants into what appeared to be an empty alleyway. You’re just about to turn back around and leave when you hear some voices further down and you let your curiosity get the best of you.
You tiptoe down the alley, the muffled voices growing more coherent as you creep closer to them. It sounds like men - maybe three of them. As you get closer, you can make out their figures in the darkness and hear the conversation.
“I don’t have your money right now! I promise I’ll get it to you as soon as I can.”
You furrowed your brow. Maybe you really should turn and run - but you couldn’t help but listen a little longer.
“You said that last week.” Came a second voice, sounding bored and belonging to a younger sounding man. You peered around the corner to get a better look at the men. There were three of them like you thought, two men against another one who looked nervous and was leaning against the wall.
“I know,” he swallowed nervously. “But-“
“Oh, enough,” complained a different man. He turned his head in your direction and you recoiled in surprise although you got a good look at his face. His hair was slicked back and he had very sharp features - almost serpent-like. “If you don’t have the money now, we’re talking you back and you can talk to Katto.” He took a step toward the man and was successful in intimidating him given the way his face paled. “I don’t have it,” he murmured.
The other man, who had sandy blonde hair that was slicked back in the same manner as his friend gave a heavy sigh that reeked of fake empathy. Peering over at his partner, he gave a small smirk in his direction. You watched, horrified, as he pulled a cloth out of his coat pocket and stepped toward the man. You had watched enough movies to know where this was going.
Before you could think it through, you launched yourself out of the darkness and cried out, “wait!”
All three men turned to look at you in surprise. You immediately shrank and filled with regret. Wow, that was dumb. You were just full of great decisions lately, weren’t you?
Before anyone could react, the man being targeted by the other two took off running past you down the alley. The man with the purple hair cursed and threw you a downright volatile glare as he darted after him. You decided the first guy probably had the right idea and turned to run. You barely made it three feet with a cold hand closed around your wrist and yanked you back. “Not so fast,” blondie hissed in your ear as he pressed the cloth to your face. You screamed and kicked your legs but it was useless and your vision soon turned to black.
You woke up later feeling a god awful throbbing sensation in the back of your head and you were freezing cold all over.
You groaned loudly at the pain, blinking in the bright lights above your face and trying to remember what exactly brought you here, on a floor, freezing cold with a head injury that could probably kill a small animal.
“They’re awake.” You heard someone whisper dramatically, followed by an annoyed groan from a second person.
You let out a groan of your own as you tried to sit up. “What the hell did you do to my head?” You grumbled out to no one in particular, trying to blink away the blotches of red in your vision. Was the chloroform really not enough?
Your vision adjusted and you saw four men standing around you. The blonde one grimaced slightly at your complaint. “You uh - you woke up in the car so I might have panicked and knocked you out.” He admitted sheepishly.
The two men from earlier were amongst the four - the two new faces was a younger looking boy with a thin, doll-like face and an older, scarier looking man with black hair.
“I can’t believe you two,” the black-haired man spoke. “Seriously, I sent you to get my money not kidnap some tourist! How stupid can you be!”
The other two men shrank as he raised his voice. You suspected he was the one they called Katto. You squinted up at them. The younger looking one gave you a small smile, his big eyes regarding you curiously.
“The three of you, go away.” He grumbled. “I’ll handle this.”
You successfully sat up, watching the three other men leave the room. It was an office - a big fancy desk in front of an even fancier bay of windows. Very red. Very- oh god.
Very mafia.
You slowly turned to look at the man, who was sitting on the edge of his desk with his hands folded in front of him. He was looking at you like he had just eaten something sour.
“Are... Are you gonna kill me?” You asked quietly. His eyes widened in surprise and he waved his hands in front of him in a frantic manner. “What!? No!” He assured you quickly. “I’m just thinking of how to apologize for those morons.”
You breathed a short laugh, amused despite the ridiculous situation you were in. “Something for my head would be a good place to start,” you offered, meeting his eyes. He flushed a light shade of pink and nodded, taking off outside of the room. You watched him leave in disbelief. If mafias were swimming pools, you were in the kiddie section.
You stood up awkwardly and pressed a hand to your forehead, black spots dancing around your vision. God, did blondie really have to hit you so hard? It hurt too much for you to freak out about being kidnapped. You just wanted some Tylenol. You glanced around at the regally decorated office and as you did, felt your eyebrows creep further and further up your forehead. There was a big glass display full of weapons on the walls, from the tiniest little knife to a gun easily the size of your entire leg. There were also those fancy glass-covered bookcases pressed against the wall with intricate ornaments. Just as you were about to go and try to open it, the door opened and the man, Katto, reentered.
“Here,” He mumbled bashfully, awkwardly fumbling with the various things in the crook of his arm. “I’m not really sure if you’re supposed to apply hot or cold,” he admitted, looking down at the hot cloth and the ice pack in his arms. “So I got both.”
You bit your lip to suppress a smile and nodded at him reassuringly. Carefully, you took the ice pack from him and held it to the back of your head. He set the hot cloth on his desk and took some pills out of the bottle and put them in your hand. You put them in your mouth and accepted the water from him, all the while he watched you carefully as if he was trying to read your mind.
“I’m really really sorry,” he apologized again. “I promise we don’t usually kidnap people.” You raised an eyebrow at him. “Usually?”
He looked like he’d tasted something sour again.
“Right.,” you mumbled. He turned away sheepishly, moving around the table to sit in his big chair. “So are you, like, a mafia boss or what?” You asked him. He nodded his head seriously in a way that said he was trying to be intimidating. He wasn’t really succeeding, in your opinion. “Katto, right?” He looked surprised but bobbed his head, drumming his fingers anxiously like he was trying to think of how to get rid of you.
“Is that your mafia codename?” Your tone was bordering on sarcastic, but you didn’t really care about offending him. You still weren’t entirely sure this wasn’t just a weird dream. “Yes,” he answered you gruffly. His ears were still red, you inwardly cooed. He’s so cute.
“What’s your real name, then?” you asked boldly, looking around once again at his office. There was a stone paperweight shaped like a dragon on his desk. Idly, you ran your finger down the sharp points on its back. “I can’t tell you that.” He chuckled.
“How come? I’ll tell you mine.” You offered. Maybe you could sweet-talk your way into a ride back to your hotel - or at least your life. He stared at you and you smiled coyly at his blank, pink face. “It’s Y/N.”
He tilted his head to the side and seemed to think for a second before responding. “Bu Fan.” He said carefully. You quirked an eyebrow at this. “Why didn’t you just go by that name, then?”
He looked bored with the questions but because he still wasn’t sure what to do with you, he continued to entertain. “Because it’s a mafia. You can’t just tell people your name.”
“Why not?”
“Because you can’t.”
“Why’d you tell me your name, then?”
“Because you asked.”
“So you would tell anyone who asked?”
“No.”
“Why me then?”
“I like you.”
You were startled by this sudden confession, feeling a hot blush creep up your neck. His lips turned up just slightly in something reminiscent of a smirk. “Uhh.. why?” You asked, nervous. You weren’t sure if a mafia boss liking you was such a good thing, no matter how handsome said mafia boss happened to be.
“You’re not afraid of me,” he mused. “At all. People usually are.”
You breathed a laugh in response. “I think your henchmen might have knocked all the sense out of my head.”
He laughed at that. “You’re funny, too.” He added.
Oh god, you thought. Were you really being hit on by an actual mafia boss right now?
“But,” he cleared his throat, scratching the back of his neck. “You need to leave now. Come on.”
He stood up and you did too, maybe a little too fast because the pain in your head that had started to dull came back full force and almost knocked you off your feet. Bu Fan grabbed you before you could hit the floor and do further damage. “Are you okay?” He asked quickly, holding you by your shoulders to keep you straight up. You hummed (or more like groaned) a response, and followed him as he led you out of the room and into the hallway. “Don’t look up from the floor,” he warned you. You weren’t eager to see how far his kindness could go, so you obeyed until you were outside and he opened the car door for you.
You got into the passenger seat and awed at the fancy interior. The leather seats were maroon and it smelled brand new. You grew nervous at being alone in the car with him - what if he drove you to some abandoned place and killed you. You shifted uncomfortably and he noticed, glancing over at you. “Relax,” he chuckled. “Killing you would give me nothing but trouble. Now, where are you staying.”
Meekly, you told him the name of the hotel and he started the car. As he pulled away, you stared out the window. The sun was starting to rise, casting a pale pink light over your surroundings. “How did you end up in that alleyway, anyway?” He attempted to make conversation. “I, uh, got lost.” You answered sheepishly. He snorted. “Why didn’t you just ask someone for directions?” You shrugged, feeling like a child being scolded.
“Well, it’s a good thing we found you.” You furrowed your eyebrows in confusion. He seemed to rethink his words when you looked over at him and grimaced. “I was literally kidnapped and then hit over the head.” You retorted. “I probably have a concussion.”
“Yeah…” He mumbled shamefully. “I promise I’ll hit them just as hard when I get back.”
You laughed and continued gazing out the window at the buildings flying by. When you arrived at the hotel, you gave him an awkward smile as a goodbye and moved to get out of the car only to find the doors were still locked. You turned back to him cautiously - he looked like he’d tasted something sour again, all red in the face and rubbing his neck. “Do you..” He started weakly. He cleared his throat. “Can I maybe..” You watched on in amazement as the scariest man you had ever seen struggled to ask for your number.
“Yes..” You said. “You can have my number.” He turned even redder and nodded, fumbling awkwardly in the glove compartment before handing you a scrap of paper and a pen. You scrawled your number down onto it quickly and handed it back to him with a smile less awkward than the last. “You know, like, if you get lost or something again.” He talked quickly, trying to talk himself back up into his manliness. “There are rival gangs. They might have seen you with me and-“ You started giggling behind your hand and he stopped, giving you a dazed look. “What?”
You shook your head. “Thank you for taking me home, Bu Fan. I’ll see you again.” You took a deep breath, leaning over the console and pressing a cheek on his cheek that bloomed as red as a rose beneath your touch. You giggled again as he looked down at his lap and said nothing. You got out of the car and closed the door behind you, walking up to the doors. He waited in the car for a minute to make sure you got in safely and once you did, waited another minute. You wondered what he was doing behind those tinted windows. Knowing he could see you through the glass wall, you waved as he drove away.
You went back up to your room still smiling - somehow, you had a feeling that the rest of your trip wouldn’t quite live up to something as crazy as being kidnapped by the mafia and getting maybe, just a tiny little crush on the mafia boss.

okay ziyang!! i ♡ this man
so ziyang really strikes me as being a funny boyfriend
i feel like while he’s a little flirtatious in the form of compliments, its mostly in a joking way and he’s actually kind of awkward when it comes to being romantic
so having ziyang as your boyfriend would basically be like having ziyang as your best friend
loves making you laugh!!
he’s the master of saying funny things with a straight face and putting you in stitches, and he gets very pleased with himself when you laugh at his jokes
but aside from being a crackhead, i think he’s really manly
he’s pretty quiet, in like a brooding/macho kind of way to me.
so he likes having the upper hand in the relationship
he’s not protective in a dramatic way, more like in the THIS MAN SEES EVERYTHING kind of way
he always has his eyes on you when you’re near him, always. he’s extremely observant when it comes to you
which sounds creepy but hear me out lol
because he’s not very clingy or overall very affectionate at all, he shows his love in the simple ways
he will always notice something is wrong before you tell him.
for example, one time you guys were at a party and you separated to talk to your individual friends.
it's not that he keeps such a close eye on you because he doesn’t trust you or he doesn’t trust other men, it’s mostly out of habit. he loves you and wants to make sure you’re okay when he isn’t by your side.
so you were talking to your female friend and just as he glances over at you whilst he’s talking to someone else, he catches your face fall at whatever your friend said to you that hurt your feelings
(which ended up being that the dress you were wearing made you look fat - which it totally didn’t, what a bitch!)
so he watches you a moment longer, seeming uncomfortable and sad before he excused himself from his conversation and made his way over to you.
your friend clocked him coming and shot him a smile he didn’t return before excusing herself.
he doesn’t ask whats wrong, doesn’t say anything about your obvious downturn in mood, the first thing he does is whisper a sly comment about your friend's hair that immediately wipes the frown off your face and makes you laugh.
happy to see you smiling, he continues making jokes until you completely forgot about what your friend said.
he would wait for you to tell him what happened on your own - and you usually did. despite appearing very unemotional, he was always supportive and easy to talk too.
he would do things like that all the time
however, sometimes this would lead you two to fight.
which is fine, every couple fights.
but sometimes ziyang really lacks initiative
like i said, this is an awkward dude. mature, manly, whatever, he’s still awkward as hell
so when he comes home to you crying and immediately tries to joke about it, he’s a little confused when you get super pissed
the baby is trying his best tho come on
i see him as the type to immediately get kinda distant once you get mad at him though, kinda sulky
and his distance would make you even more mad, but i see him as being kinda snappy so he gets distant so he won’t say anything he doesn’t mean to you
so if you push him.. he might say something he doesn’t mean, yknow?
but afterwards he will talk about it and he’ll probably get pretty mad at himself.
fighting is rare though! sometimes this poor baby just can’t take a hint
and now for the filthy stuff
so ziyang is a big boy…. if u know what im saying
and he uses that to his every advantage
i can see him being a little kinky but nothing too crazy.. i feel like light bondage would be where its at for him
but sex with him would be really comfortable.. i think because he strikes me as being so casually funny that would carry over to the bedroom and sex would be more fun than serious
so like it’d take him a while to stop giggling before he could tie your wrists together
and he’d also be a massive fucking tease
he’d probably love making you beg for him tbh
i can see him also kind of trying to embarrass you?? or like make you flustered by his words if that makes sense?
he’s a physical tease just as much as a verbal one this man is RELENTLESS
you really do have to beg just to get him DO SOMETHING
but he keeps a relatively slow pace, he wants it to be enjoyable for both you and him
aftercare is probably just like.. untying you and wiping you off if necessary and then passing out for a few hours
overall he’s a really big awkward baby who loves making you laugh
