She skipped out of her rooms in search of her fiance, clutching the invitation to Phillip and Aurora's masquerade in her hand. Her mind was filled with costumes and pretty gowns and endless possibilities for dressing up; maybe Danny would have some, too!
She asked countless servants if they'd seen his majesty, but he had seemingly vanished---
She wouldn't let that panic her; he could've gone riding, or down to the village, or...or...or he could be napping---she hadn't checked his room. Snow dashed back up the stairs. "Danny? My love?"

She'd been pacing for half an hour, even though she'd already made her decision. She had to go; Cindy needed her. But telling Danny was going to be hard, more than hard - she twirled her new ring around again with her thumb and started her speech over in her head, her lips moving silently.
Was that a noise at the door? She'd sent someone to find him more than an hour ago; where could he be? She crossed behind the desk and picked up the letter again, then put it down, then picked it up once more. He'd understand - they were engaged, and she certainly felt the importance of the promise that they'd made to one another. It wouldn't be for long, and there would be so much to do in preparation for their wedding that...oh, she was grasping at straws. He'd either understand or he wouldn't.
Snow sat heavily behind the desk, her head falling into her hands.
