1. Playing percussion instruments
7. General problem solving
10. Creating loose schedules and sticking to them
1. I was in band and was a part of leadership within it. I’ve done it for years.
2. Everyone that I’m not too afraid to sing around says I’m really good at it. I’ll take their word for it.
3. I have anemia and it makes me super cold and tired almost all of the time. Sometimes I can’t fight falling asleep. In addition to that, I traveled around in a car for a very long time a lot. I’m pretty adept at falling asleep in uncomfortable locations.
4. A big part of my job at Bojangles is cleaning the dining room. They make me do it a lot because they believe I am very good at it. They also made me teach managers-in-training how to do it.
5. I’ve played video games since before I could read, and I beat my siblings at a lot of games.
6. I’m quiet. The quieter you are, the more you hear.
7. I’m working on a computer science degree, and a major factor in computer science is solving problems.
8. I found my way around campus with a map with little to no problems. That’s a success in my book. Also, my mom is really bad at reading maps, so whenever we go anywhere it’s my job to navigate if it’s just us. We don’t get lost when I navigate.
9. I don’t type the “proper” way, but I type very fast and I do not tend to misspell words when I do.
10. I have a lot of sticky notes that, at the beginning of the week, I write everything I need to get done on them. It’s a system that works really well for me, and so far, I’ve done everything I needed to do on time.
What I want to be literate at:
1. I want to be able to be culinarily literate in all senses of the matter.
2. The first place (person, I suppose) I’d go to would be to my mom. She makes almost everything I eat, and it’s really good. She knows how to cook.
3. The second place I’d go to learn more about this type of literacy would be cooking websites. Not just recipe websites, but blogs or forums about cooking. Those people are passionate about it, so I’d assume they’re good at it too.
4. I think others should be open to learn about this form of literacy because food is necessary to survive. It’s very pricey to eat at restaurants all the time.
5. This literacy will benefit me in the future because I will not have to rely on someone else to cook my meals. It would benefit everyone else in the same sense.
Culinary literacy is the best thing to know because it is a livelong skill! You can cook delicious meals for not only yourself, but also for your friends who will be impressed by your incredible cooking abilities. You will save a ton of money each year after learning how to cook yourself dinner. You and your wallet will be full!
