Interview with Haleh Esfandiari. 9/18/14
Anyone who follows my blog knows that I enjoy writing about current events and past events..but from a perspective that attempts to explain, spiritually speaking, what may be the cause and solution regarding such events. I write about environmental issues, women's rights, the sex slave trade, school shootings and many other things.
I have been wanting to focus on writing more of these kinds of articles, but have been wanting to include perspectives other than just my own. I have wanted to tap into wisdom and experience on topics from people who have been directly involved in these situations personally. To this end I have an announcement to make.
Next week, on 9/18/14 I will be interviewing Haleh Esfandiari via Skype.
Haleh Esfandiari
Post interview I will provide a transcript of the session. She came to my attention after I read an article from her called "ISIS' Cruelty Toward Women Gets Scant Attention". I recently referred to the plight of female Yazidi captives, however briefly, in a recent posting and was glad to see that Haleh is not letting the story fall away. For understanding how ISIS members reach the point that they are able to treat women in the way that the Yazidi women are being treated is worth our effort. As the world gets smaller and we all get closer, we won't get away with turning a blind eye to extremism in any of its forms. And the fact that the targeted treatment of women by ISIS has fallen- or never really made- the headlines...is something we need to pay close attention to....because that too shows how the problem exists on a larger scale beyond ISIS.
I read her article and concluded that I would love to interview her. Please check out her BIO and learn all you can. Her life has been rather quite extraordinary. I am sincerely looking forward to meeting and talking with her. If you have any particular questions that you wish you could get answers too...I doubt you or I will be able to find a more reliable source for an answer than Haleh: so send them in to me and I'll see if I can work them in.
