Lucy Van Pelt is the terror of her neighborhood, simultaneously bullying all her classmates, running a roadside psychiatric practice, and pitching for the neighborhood baseball team.

Schroeder is a single-minded musical prodigy who has no interest or time for anything except playing the piano and studying the life of Beethoven.

Schroeder and Lucy are as unlikely a combination as possible, but Lucy’s devotion to Schroeder refuses to ebb no matter how many times he discourages her interest. Lucy hangs on Schroeder’s every word... or note, lounging on his piano and listening to him play while fantasizing about romantic scenarios that Schroeder assures her will never happen. Still, Schroeder’s determination to emulate Beethoven’s lifelong bachelorhood may not be enough to keep Lucy away from him (she is, as he discovers, his muse), and she certainly has more than one trick up her sleeve to get her own way.

Rollin Hand is known as the Man of Many Faces, a brilliant disguise artist and magician who also is a team member of the IMF and frequently poses as entirely different people on missions.

Rollin and Cinnamon share a strictly professional relationship on the IMF, except for when they don’t. The pair are masters of disguise and brilliant manipulators, often being sent in together as covers while the other team members work behind the scenes. Though their feelings are neither acknowledged nor showcased, Rollin and Cinnamon make a dynamic duo on missions and give off sparks in a way that irresistibly draws them together.

Cliff and Clair have known one another since childhood, but their marriage stays strong due to their light-hearted and romantic relationship that never wavers no matter what they disagree on.
