The National Monument of Scotland, located in Calton Hill Edinburgh, is the national memorial to the Scottish soldiers and sailors who died fighting in the Napoleonic Wars. It was constructed in 1826, modelled upon the Parthenon in Athens. However due to the lack of funds, it was left unfinished in 1829. Because of that, it also got a nicknames, such as ‘Scotland’s Disgrace’. - (28/09/2017) #nationalmonumentofscotland #scotland #uk #edinburgh #scotlandsdisgrace #edinburghsfolly #caltonhill #throwback #latepost #eurotrip #nationalmonument #europe #ongooglemap (at National Monument of Scotland)
