Recently the Europe had snowy days and I wish I can be there right now. 😭. The last time I had snow was in March 3rd, 2018. This was taken in Leidschendam. The tram tracks is located in front of the HMC Antoniushove, and once I lived in the apartment building on the right side. The other side of Zaanse Schans. - It was a winter trip to the famous windmill village in North Holland. It was not my first time trip to the Zaanse, but me and @fajarriduan took a bit longer walk to the back of the Zaans Museum and found this sightseeing tower. He was leaning at one corner of the tower. The windmills can be seen in the background. The canal was frozen. We had our first walk on the ice, fun but scary experience. The grass area were in yellow-light brown colors. And the sky was clear and blue. It didn’t feel like winter at all. On the east banks of Rhine River in Köln, I was walking towards the Kölner Dom or Cologne Cathedral (that twin tower on the background) through the infamous Hohenzollern Bridge. I was with my friends Dimas (that guy with blue jacket) and @akeniken (not visible in the picture). - I spent the last days of 2016 en route from The Hague to Darmstadt. Started in Dec 30th, we took train to Maastricht, visited the Drielandenpunt and Aachen, before we arrived in Köln. In Dec 31th, we spent almost the whole day exploring the city centre, had Pork Knuckle in the famous FRÜH am Dom Brauhaus, then took a train to Frankfurt. Afterwards, we celebrate the new year 2017 in @feliciariawan place. That night in Frankfurt, I also experience my first snowfall!! ❄️ ⛄️ Just a few hours after new years, we took train to Darmstadt and spent the Jan 1st there at Dimas’ place. So that’s my first time traveling to Germany and also my first time traveling in group to several destinations in one trip. Closer look to the façade of Pantheon. I took the photo in black and white and did a bit of enhancements on the Instagram, and I love the result! The Yellow Tower of Uilenstede (with a cameo of Moon), taken from the Green Tower. - Campus Uilenstede is the residential complex where most of the Vrije Universiteit (VU) Amsterdam students live. There are several buildings with different colours. The most known building is the Green Tower which intended for international students. During my study in VU, I lived in Leidschendam; but sometimes I crashed in my friend’s place in Uilenstede. This is one perks of studying in the Netherlands. Most of the universities have a designated residential area for the students. Usually bachelor and master students can enjoy the residential facility only for the first year; then they have to find another place by themselves. - Fun fact: Uilenstede is located in Amstelveen, a different municipalities next to the south border of Amsterdam. Looking out from the window of the Colosseum. I put it in black and white to make it looks like in 2000 years ago. I wonder how would it feel to be in the pandemic-lockdown inside the Colosseum at the ancient time, and you can see there are still many people wandering around on the outside the Colosseum. Just like in the present time, people are still going outside during the pandemic. Welcome 2021! My first post in this year comes with sunshine, I hope this year we will be lighted with luck, positivity and prosperity. 🙂 - I had my first mushroom forage with my mycologists cousin @miguelriachuelo in Clingendael Park, Den Haag. We took so many photos of many kind of mushrooms. This is one of many things that I miss from living in the Netherlands. This is how I look back to 2020. Can you guess what is my emotion? 😶 - I have not really active on my feed in the past few months. I planned to share photos and stories that I had from my previous journey in Europe. But I did not really focus due to the challenging times of my job this past few months. I am looking forward to be actively posting pictures again next year; at least I will have something more to do for myself (other than my job). I also want to start writing about my stories or any other things that I found interesting and worth to be shared. Also, once I thought to have another account specifically for black and white photos, but I think I will have it here instead. And this would be the first of many b/w photos on my feed. Hergé Museum starts from telling about Hergé’s life. Georges Prosper Remi, known by the pen name Hergé, was a Belgian cartoonist. He started his career as illustrator for magazines (including comic strips) and also commercial/advertisements. He’s best known for creating The Adventures of Tintin, while also known for two other series: Quick & Flupke (1930-1940) and The Adventures of Jo, Zette and Jocko (1936-1957).
