So, somehow it can't load the status page for my router via either address (the local ip, or testwifi.here) BUT it can at least load the "your browser sux!" page of the Local Device Control page on my Nest router (which, that page actually hasn't even been updated since the OnHub days!)
the cool thing about google's wifi routers (on.hub, google wifi, and nest wifi) is that if someone connected to your network (guest or main) pisses you off, you can just go "no more internet for you" and just pause it for them. It doesn't kick them off the network, but they won't get internet access. absolute powermove of pettyness imo

Finding a new annoyance with the OnHub now. The autoswitching of bands was novel at first, but now my media device keeps randomly getting toggled...
Product manager for OnHub explains that the smart switching for Wi-Fi frequencies only changes the CHANNEL for each frequency and has nothing to do with what frequency your device tries to use. That’s a bummer since my devices keep hitting 2.4, and it’s noticeably slower when I’m trying to stream since it drops to 802.11n speeds. He did say that they were working on a way around it on their end, but that was in October 2015. Maybe we’ll see it in Google Wifi?
