Dead of Winter #1. New zombie comic book by Oni Press based off the role playing board game, Dead of Winter. It was pretty weak to me. As the book is introducing characters, it seemed like they just starting fitting in different nationalities for no good reason. I am not saying that they shouldn't have but it felt forced. First you have an African-American male saved by a Hispanic male along with a White male (who was labeled as "white trash"). Then they go to the safe house where there is an Asian woman. Mean while the dog is taking out zombies left and right. With someone saying, "that dog really hates zombies" everytime. One scene has one the characters open the door and zombies were everywhere, but not one zombie tried to get in. Artwork wasn't great but it wasnt bad. Some great-looking indie comics by awesome creators purchased from a new comics shop in Port Jefferson, Long Island, during an unplanned drive to eastern Long Island.
