Oni no Hanayome
The Ogre's Bride OP
I’m glad Yuzu is smart enough to realize that she probably doesn’t love Reiya yet and just likes what he represents for her, an escape from her abusive family and a new start.
It’s impossible to really love someone that you barely know, all their conversations revolve around shallow shit like him wanting to kiss her and flirty shit instead of the real nitty gritty convos you need to have to know if you really vibe and like a person. Obviously she thinks he’s hot and a nice person for the most part, but he’s so aggressive she’s had almost no time to actually examine her feelings because she went from meeting him to moving in in like 2 hours😭 and they’re rarely apart.
Even though Sakurako is about to start shit, I hope this arc allows Yuzu to grow as an individual and sort her feelings. As for Sakurako, idk why these people keep trying to mess with Reiya’s fiance when he’s established as the top dog in this universe both socially and strength wise.. if Sakurako bullies Yuzu out of the engagement, Reiya will find out and it’ll be over for her.. even if she gets her to call off the engagement of her own volition, Reiya will find out she’s been pressured, so again, what’s the point lol

The concept of stalking someone until they fall in love with you..
I’m sorry but Touko and Nyankichi backstory had the opposite effect on me and made me hate their relationship because what do you mean buddy stalked her for months until they realized they liked the same series and then Touko falls for him?? Being rewarded by pulling the girl for doing this is so weird to me.
The whole sequence gives me the ick because Nyankichi and demons in general don’t even view human women as sentient beings, it’s just all “me, me, me” with them. They need you to increase their demonic power so you now belong to them. You become a possession rather than a person and that’s so gross. I was hoping this series would develop beyond that, but if this is what the ideal endgame relationship is.. it’s over.
Even Touko’s rationale for falling for Nyankichi makes no sense, she clearly just liked the attention he gave her and when that went away, she got jealous and upset and had a little breakdown, but that doesn’t mean she loves HIM, she loves what he brought to her life, which is attention.
