Snake: They were trying to create an animal that would combine the gentleness of a dog with the endurance and ferocity of a wolf, but they didn’t get the stamina and power they were hoping for. On top of that, their personality wound up closer to wolves. Most of ‘em won’t even let you get close. That’s why they never caught on.

Miller/Liquid: Ah, that’s right. You’re a musher.

Snake: Yeah. And after they outlawed the use of hybrids in dog sled races in 2002, no one even wanted to breed them anymore. I heard that most of them were put to sleep after that.

Miller/Liquid: Yes. But some of the wolf dog pups that were thrown away went wild. I’ve heard that wild wolf dogs hunt in packs, just like wolves. Better be careful.

Tbh my biggest fear is getting pregnant. Like I'm 26 and can barely take care of myself.

There’s too much to change in the world and too many adventures to be had for Nick and I to settle down anytime in the next decade and a half, at least. We still have to move in to a crappy apartment together, follow our dream to Oregon, live abroad, potentially join the Peace Corp and/or Teach for America, adopt dogs from the shelter, volunteer at women’s aid shelters, help out in our communities, adopt more dogs, climb Glacier with Stephanie, visit Rachel and Eric in Texas, adopt more dogs, potentially house some of Nick’s troubled students if need be, go to Patagonia, save the world,
