My first javelina sighting, across the street from my house. A bit surprising since we live in the city, not near an arroyo or any wilderness area. A neighbor said she saw a lone javelina behind their house the other day. Probably the same one. -- Another strange thing is that it was alone. Javelina are pack animals, and this one may have gotten separated from its pack somehow. -- Fun fact: they aren't pigs. Pigs are from the "Old World," and peccary are "New World" animals, according to the Arizona-Sonora Desert Meseum website. -- I hope you find your pack, Little One. It's scary going it alone. 😯 -- #onlyintucson #javelina #findmytribe #wildanimals (at Tucson, Arizona)
