The Bitcoin Show - Episode 004
OnlyOneTV's Bruce Wagner (@BruceWagner) and Manny Mena interview representatives of TradeHill (Andy Stradling and Jared Kenna) to learn more about TradeHill's reaction to Mt. Gox's security breach. The breach closed both exchanges so also discussed are the changes planned before each reopens as well. The show starts at 05:55 into the video. Length 49 minutes.
Bruce: [Was] one of the reasons you wanted to halt things was out of fear that people may have used the same password on both, which is very very likely? Andy (TH): Yes, that was one of the reasons.
Bruce: What are your thoughts on reversing of trades? Andy (TH): If somebody comes in and does something that is not unethical or within the rules of the game we should make best efforts to right the wrong. We would like to look at how different exchanges around the world handle these situations. We would be happy to discuss this with the bitcoin community.
Bruce: How seriously are you taking security? Jared (TH): We are a huge target. Security is our top priority. It takes precedence over everything else. We are having a third party audit come in. We're going to make all the information public and available. We'll be implementing multifactor authentication. That's going to be happening quickly.
Manny: Does TradeHill have a limit on withdrawals? Jared (TH): We do not. What if an early [bitcoin] adopter legitimately decides to dump 20,000 bitcoins? Do we want to try prevent that?
Following this discussion is The Bitcoin Show 005 in which representatives from Mt. Gox were interviewed.
