ons chapter 145, also known as the chapter where the manga making process is completely fly-by- the-seat-of-your-pants.

i think this is the first ons chapter where i truly felt my blood boil lmao. im going to go through it, highlighting my favorite ridiculous moments. this is very unserious.

1. foreshadowing, and the pattern of progenitors who have empty lives despite their successes in their human lives.

ferid certainly will manage to do that this chapter with the whole head on a shelf predicament. upon second reading, it's not a half bad attempt at foreshadowing.

2. a roman named pompey

is his brother named vesuvius?

3. ferid somehow not only living through this as a human, but remaining alert and communicative

wasn't this an insta death for humans up until now?

4. philistine as a catch-all, repetitive description that does nothing for the storyline whatsoever.

5. over a century of an injured vampire not drinking blood.

6. ferid is moses?

more foreshadowing?

7. my favorite scene

there are 3 logical directions to move your jar prison off the shelf: forward, backwards, and off the unblocked side. for some reason, ferid... chose the longest way. he could've cut down a decade if he switched directions forwards or backwards.

8. the logic of this scene

in the first portion of the manga, it was a whole deal that mika struggled by the skin of his teeth for 4 years avoiding blood. ferid, lacking a whole body, went well over a century without blood, and without the looming threat of demonhood?

... seriously?

9. ferid himself doesnt understand what happened this chapter

as i already stated, this is very unserious. im sure other fans will do a deeper dive, which i look forward to reading. im hoping that we get a continuation of ferid's past next month. this alone feels deeply unsatisfying, but i've been reading ons for almost a decade now and im in it for the long run.

hello hello just wanted to ask a little question

in the last chap when ferid and rigr were talking about a goal/purpose in life (i can't remember clearly .-.) rigr says that he wants to save someone.

it confused me a little and i can't really figure out what or who he meant so what do you think?

Okay, Rigr's line may be tricky, so we do have two possibilities in there.

Sika Madu/Shikama Doji

This one is the one with the highest possibility, but for that, let's look at their former selves which are the angels.

Back when they had identities as angels, Rigr Stafford aka Saito, was known as Paimon. Nowdays we have his reincarnation:

Paimon's whole reason to live was serving the King, who was Sika Madu, he loved him deeply (not romantic wise but literally the whole sense of loyalty to the end, appreciation.)

Thus, taking that as a base, we can pinpoint that the one Rigr wanted to save was actually Sika Madu in the time they were abandoned by him. (Aka, the time the vampire council was left on its own)

And this connects with certain chapter:

Rigr's final goal is to save all worlds, to do what Shikama Doji wanted to do.

Meaning that even despite the betrayals, battles, differences, Rigr always followed and was loyal to Sika Madu to the end.

Urd Geales

While this may be something that many might consider, Rigr and Urd's relationship is a bit complicated. And this too goes with how it was back with their ancestors, or previous lives as angels.

Bael cherished Sika Madu but he never sought nor had a deep rooted appreciation for him. Rather, the one to motivae him was always Paimon, but once Paimon died, Bael chose to watch from the sides ultimately taking a harsh decision.

Therefore, even in their current lifetimes as Urd and Rigr, Urd wishes and longes for Rigr to walk the correct side and not walk on the same path the First did, you could say Urd views more the present than a distant dream as something more viable.

Even in chapter 105, the only thing Urd hoped, was for Rigr to be with him and protrect the vampire society they had.

Ultimately, Urd was left on its own.

Therefore, this is rather the less probable answer for the question at hand.
