On The Go Beauty Essentials
Not sure how many of you ladies carry your make up essentials with you at all times, but I sure do! I never want there to be a time when I think to my self “Wow, I really wish I had some mascara with me for a quick touch up.”
Now, let me explain – I don’t carry my whole make up bag with me, just the essentials for any unexpected meetings, a needed touch up for after work drinks or a desperate touch up after having your face melted on the train! (It’s been a pretty brutal summer with all this heat!)
1. I love carrying a roll on perfume in my bag, perfect quick fix for a humid and muggy day. My favorite scents are here and here.
2. Bronzer and/or blush is the perfect last touch. There are times when I like to wear them separately and other times I like to wear them together. This is why my NARS mini blush and bronzer is so handy. I feel like you get the best of both worlds in one little package.
3. Even though hand cream isn’t exactly a “make up item” I can’t go anywhere without it. I get pretty dry elbows at times – so I like to always keep it on hand to keep my elbows pain free.
4. Eyeliner, hands down one of my favorite beauty items! I am the queen of cat eye – not sure what I did before I learned how to master the cat eye.
5. Lipstick, a must have for any occasion! Quick dab on the lips and you’ve got a whole new look to yourself and your wardrobe.
6. I have short curly hair, and short curly hair needs two major things: Hair spray to hold it down and dry shampoo to give it some lift after a hot and humid day.
7. For the blush/bronzer I plan on using, having a handy dandy brush is always important. Applying it with your fingers is an ultimate no no!
8. Eye shadows, I like to keep 2-3 in my bag at all times. Along with the cat eye, I like to give myself a smokey eye. I would recommend keeping a light base color, a darker color to make a perfect “smokey” and an eye shadow that has some sparkle to it. I love sparkles; so any chance I get to wear them – even if they are in an eye shadow I do! (Here is a great makeup palette that has all options.)
9. Even though Wet One’s aren’t a beauty item, they come in handy when your make up spills in your bag, or when the make up gets all over your hands. Perfect for a quick clean up.
10. Mascara is the one beauty item I carry on me at ALL times (even in a little going out purse!) As I've said before, I feel that mascara is the number one must do when it comes to make up - gives your eyes that total pop. My Favorite one, which does wonders to the eyelashes can be found here.
11. Dry lips are pretty painful, and they don’t look so great when you’ve got lipstick on. This Kiehl’s mango lip balm is perfect for dry lips that are in need of some replenishment.
Now you may think I carry a lot of things in my bag, but I never want to leave anything to chance. I also commute into the city, so there is never an opportunity to run back home and do a quick touch up.
