On this day in 1606 Christine of France, Duchess of Savoy was born. Christine was the third child of Henry IV of France and Marie de' Medici. She married once: Victor Amadeus I, Duke of Savoy – 1619 – 1637 (his death). They had 8 children including Francis Hyacinth, Duke of Savoy and Charles Emannuel II, Duke of Savoy. Their first child was stillborn.
