Months ago Michie Mee personally reached out to me & invited me to her bday party in Nov. That doesn't happen too often so u know what I said to the Queen: "of course!" After that, I hit a wall & am presently in a difficult & dark season marked by heightened anxiety & unpredictable PTSD-like symptoms + triggers. I have lacked life balance for a long time & it caught up to me. It feels like everything crumbling inside all at once - mind, body, spirit. I was told to recover I must rest and go on a people / technology detox. Which is pretty counter intuitive for a born extrovert who believes her ability to deeply connect w people is why God placed her here on earth... but is also what led to the burn out in the first place. This is all a first for me. I say all that to say I wasn't sure if I'd be ok to go to the party (bc I never know if I'm ok until I hit the wall & it's too late). I went bc I gave the Queen of Canadian Hip Hop my word. I expected to celebrate her & support other queens on the stage, but I did NOT expect this! The Almighty always has a way of encouraging us when we're down, reminding us of who we are & confirming that we're right where we're supposed to be when we're supposed to be, even if we weren't sure we could or should go there. And God worked thru @gabztaboo & @michiebadgyalmee last night, who honoured others when it was her night to be honoured. That is the definition of a true leader & legend. #OnThisMic #CanadianHipHop #CanadianHipHopLegend #MichieMee #AboutLastNight #FemaleMCsRock #CertificateofRecognition #FromTheQueensThrone
