This took me a few good days to make but take a barley giggle compilation for no implied reasons at all. And also him using certain tones and voices…looks off to the side casually
Heya Kasey!! Hehe I saw that your tickletober list was ready to get requests. First off all! Don’t overwork yourself/burn yourself out. Remember to drink lots of water while making these things for people 🫂🩵

TickleTober Day 25: Trap
~Sorry this is late! These two’s dynamic is really fun to write, so hopefully the length made up for my tardiness. Also, for any curious folks, Charlie is Pocky’s Onward OC (you can check her page for more info). Thank you for requesting, and I hope you Enjoy!~
Fandom: Onward (+ Pocky’s OC)
Lee: Charlie
Ler: Barley
Summary: While running a QoY session, Barley notices his girlfriend feeling down about her low roles. Luckily for Charlie, the elf boy has some special remedies for that disappointment.
Warnings: none! This is a tickle fic, so if you don’t like that, scroll away!!
Barley’s deep, dramatic voice echoed through the room, sending little goosebumps fanning across Charlie’s skin. They were in the middle of a QoY session, and Charlie’s character had just encountered a trap.
“You feel the slight give in the floor panel before anything else. Then, suddenly, you hear stones grinding behind you as part of the floor begins to open up. You’ve encountered a booby trap, and you only have seconds to respond. What will you do?”
“Oh, uh, roll to get away!” Charlie blurted, quickly reacting. It was one of their first sessions, and she was still a bit new to the whole RPG thing. “That’s dexterity, right?”
He tapped the side of his head, smiling proudly at his girlfriend. She was learning the ropes of the game mechanics pretty quickly. “Close, that’s the stat block it falls under. I’m gonna have you roll acrobatics specifically, though.”
With a deep breath, Charlie picked up her d20. Barley had gotten her a pretty set to begin with: pink resin with little ducks in them. She whispered a quick “please be lucky, please be lucky” under her breath before shaking it in her palm. Then, crossing her fingers, she let it hit the table.
The die clattered around, rolling across the table. The seconds dragged on as Charlie held her breath, fingers still tightly crossed. She knew it was a simple roll, but it’d taken three sessions to make it that deep into the dungeon she was exploring. In her mind, failing then was not an option.
Finally, the die began to slow. Charlie watched as the 19 side rolled into view, and a grin broke across her face. Only it kept going, and right on the edge, it rolled down. Her face dropped as she watched it still out, the 1 side almost mocking her as it stared at the ceiling. “Dang it.”
Barley saw the disappointment on Charlie’s face, and it broke his heart a bit. He knew how excited she was to make it that deep into the dungeon, and he hated to see her look so down. She was definitely falling into the trap, but…well, there was no rule saying he couldn’t make it fun for her.
“You try to run from the emerging trap, but you slip on an uneven path stone. Before you can hit the ground, however, you feel something cylindrical wrap around your torso,” he grinned, reaching into his box of minis. Out came a mass of green vines, the plastic model about the size of his palm. “A strong vine lifts you into the air, pulling you back towards the hole in the floor. You realize you’ve encountered some of the dungeon's infamous living fauna, and it’s looking for some company.”
“Living fauna?” questioned Charlie, tilting her head. She’d never seen Barley pull out that mini before, nor had she heard any mention of sentient plants in their campaign.
He grinned at that, loving her little heat-tilt. She still looked disappointed, though Barley had a plan to fix that. “Yep, this dungeon’s crawling with tricky traps.”
Charlie could sense a hint of mischief behind his words, but she couldn’t quite pinpoint why.
“Now, back to it. The vines twist around your body, though they don’t seem to be harming you. Instead, they snake up to your sides, sneak between the gaps of your leather tunic, and begin to wiggle against your skin.”
Charlie felt a blush creep onto her cheeks beneath her fur, and she started to fidget with the hem of her hoodie. It was technically Barley’s, but she’d stolen it ages ago, and he’d never asked to take it back. “B-Barley, what’re you doing?”
“I’m QMing, sweetie bear,” he said coyly, letting her know the flustering effect was entirely purposeful. “You feel a smile creep across your face as the vines wriggle against your skin, tickling you. They keep you in the trap, seemingly unbreakable. What will you do?”
“You’re being mean,” she huffed, looking away from her boyfriend’s smug expression. He knew exactly was he was doing, and she hated to admit that it was working. Charlie had told him about her affinity for the silly affection a few weeks prior, and he’d been slipping playful moments in whenever he knew she needed a laugh. It was the first time he’d done it in their campaign, though.
“What? I’m just describing the scene to you, Char.” Barley got up from his chair as he spoke, walking around the table to get to Charlie.
The bear girl realized what was happening a moment too late. She tried to get up and run, but her boyfriend’s strong arms wrapped around her middle before she could escape. “ACK! Barley, c’mon! We’re supposed to be playing the game!”
“We are playing the game,” he chuckled, holding her tightly against his chest. His hands rested on her sides as he held her steady, speaking into her ear. “I’m giving you a taste of what your character is going through. It might help you figure out what to do next!”
“Noho! No, Barley, this is bullying,” Charlie whined, shoving half-heartedly at his arms. While she was definitely flustered by the sudden inclusion of tickling, she wasn’t as opposed to it as she seemed.
Barley recognized that lack of true resistance as well, so he continued being a goober.
“Nah, I don’t think it is. Not when I can make you do this,” he said, wiggling his fingers into her underarms. It was one of her worst spots, making her kick in Barley’s hold. She couldn’t control it, though she was trying not to get his shins. It always got her squealing.
And squeal Charlie did. A loud chuff broke the sound, and she dissolved into bright, boisterous laughter in her boyfriend’s arms. “NOHOHOHO! B-BAHAHARLEHEHEY!”
“Yeeeees, teddy bear?” he hummed, pressing a few kisses to her neck. He knew she loved those, even if they tickled her.
“YOUHUHU SUHUHUCK!”
Barley didn’t want to overwhelm her, so he switched up his tactics. Sitting in his comfy QM chair, he pulled Charlie into his lap and started to scribble on her stomach. “Yeah, I know. You’re having fun though, right cub?”
“M-mahahaybe,” she mumbled through her giggles. Charlie turned in the elf’s lap, burying her face in his shoulder. All the silliness had gotten her into a cuddly mood.
The boy picked up on her mood shift, pressing a few kisses to her cheek. He wasn’t looking to push any boundaries. “Aw, you want me to be soft?”
Charlie nodded, squeaking when his lips brushed her neck. Their QoY session had gone off the rails for the night, and she’d rather spend some time with him than sleep. “Yehehes, plehehease.”
“Alright, honey bear,” he hummed softly, pressing a few more little kisses to the side of her neck. His hands slowed down to gentle flutter against her belly, searching to comfort her with the tickly affection more than anything.
Charlie giggled in Barley’s arms, starting to purr through her laughter. The rumbling sound made her boyfriend smile, even though it embarrassed her sometimes.
“There's the purrs. Only the cutest of bear warriors have them, you know. Shows their might.”
That dork was always drawing compliments from Quests of Yore, but Charlie wasn’t complaining. She loved the game as well, and it was doubly fun because it reminded her of Barley.
“Y-youhuhu’re a dohohork,” she sighed against his shoulder, cuddling closer. Her little tail was wagging happily as she giggled away.
Barley chuckled at the jab, deciding to be a bit of a menace. “Oh, really? Well, this dork has a lovely girlfriend with a very kissable neck.”
His lips descended upon her furry neck, peppering it with butterfly kisses. Charlie squeaked and squirmed from the attention, trying not to giggle too shrilly near his ear. “Shuhuhush!”
“Nah, I don't think I will,” he teased, moving one hand up to her ear. Barley was extra careful with it, making sure he only tickled and didn’t hurt the sensitive area.
Charlie chuffed at that, her purring growing louder as she giggled. That felt really nice: he was tickling two of her favorite spots, and he was being gentle with her. “Ohoho gahahash…”
Unable to help himself, Barley went back to kissing his girlfriend’s neck. She was acting utterly adorable while he tickled her, and he simply had to show his affections.
Charlie started to squeak and chuff once again, nuzzling her face against Barley’s shoulder. It was nice to stim while being tickled, and rubbing her face against him was always a good way to regulate.
Barley immediately clocked the stimming and stopped his kisses, worried of overstimulating her. “All good, honey bear? Need me to stop?”
“N-nohoho, juhuhuhust stimmy,” she giggled, patting his shoulder in reassurance. She’d let him know when it was too much, and it hadn’t gotten there yet.
Resisting the urge to coo like a dork, Barley went back to kissing. It was light and sweet, making sure Charlie was still comfortable while he tickled her. “You’re so sweet, Charlie.”
The compliment got a rather loud chuff out of the bear girl, and he poked Barley in the side for it. Retaliation was never outlawed, after all.
“Hehey! Oh, you little goblin…” he huffed, giving her neck a little nibble. Barley wouldn’t be mean—she’d asked for soft tickles, after all—but he would tease. “I’m gonna get you later for that. Maybe see how your character fairs in the Chamber of Feathery Fright.”
Charlie blushed at the thought, nervous excitement making her ears twitch. “Th-thahahat’s nohot a thihihing!”
“Sure it is. I’m the QM, and I designed the dungeon.”
It was rare, but Barely would occasionally use his QM powers for nefarious purposes. It was never done maliciously, of course, but he would occasionally insert silly scenarios to fluster or playfully annoy his girlfriend.
As the tickling carried on, Charlie’s energy began to dwindle. The tickles were fun, but she was getting rather sleepy. “O-ohohokahay, noho mohohore!”
Barley immediately stopped all the tickly touches, switching to simply holding Charlie tight. He nuzzled his forehead against the top of her furry head, checking in. “Still okay?”
“U-uhuh-huh, I’m gohood. Just got too sleepy,” she nodded, leaning up to give the elven boy an appreciative kiss.
He smiled into it like the dork he was, still grinning after she pulled away. “You, uh, wanna watch a movie before bed? Maybe listen to some music?”
Charlie giggled at his dopey expression, nodding. “Mm…sure. You can show me that indie band you were talking about at breakfast.”
“Oh, yeah! You’ll love ‘em, trust me. It's got the vibes of classic rock, but all the emotion and electronic rendering of the new-age stuff. Plus, there’s violin in it. They made violin sound natural in a rock song!”
There was his passion for music shining through. Nuzzling her face against Barley’s chest, Charlie listened intently to the rambling.
The bear girl would probably fall asleep listening to the music, but it was worth staying up a bit to share one of Barley’s special interests. She’d always make some time for him, even if she got a little sleepy in-between.
Hey yall so sorry for the LACK of content school and life has been kicking me in the ASS- but do take some of this fine dining of Human Barley and Charlie as well as one digital piece HEHEHHE
