THANK YOU and UPDATE

Thank you to everyone who has sent me messages regarding my Grandad. It is always a comfort to know people care and you really are interacting with loving, caring people who honestly mean it when they say they are your friend, or they care about you. *wipe away a tear* (Yea, I’m emotional now, REAL emotional.)

I am waiting for the word to go to Grandad’s and Gran’s. My mom and one uncle are setting up with hospice at the house, while another uncle and Gran are at the hospital. I have been making shortbread to takeover because...Grandad loves it and I don’t know if he can eat it, but I know Gran will want to offer guests something with tea.

I probably won’t get to stop until late, as I don’t know what time tonight they’ll release him, and I won’t be able to stay late because I know Gran will be exhausted. (Bedtime for her is usually before 8pm) My mom is staying the night tonight.

It is all very surreal still. Again, thanks for the overflowing inbox. People don’t realise how much just a little, “Im thinking about you,” or “I’m sorry” or “I’ve been through this too” goes. It makes you feel so much less alone.

Grandad was my knight in shinning armour growing up. He IS such a live wire! Such a SPARK! Such a CHARACTER! I can’t believe how much this hurts! (And this isn’t my first loss. I lost my damn brother!)
