(putting more thoughts not on the other post) I mean I honestly think ballet saved my life. I used to be so depressed and alone when I was in high school and ballet was my therapy. The strength and power I felt (and still feel) when I dance and the emotional expression and the women who taught and mentored me were so important.

Ballet is certainly not as bad in my opinion as jazz dancing if you wanna talk about down sides because the more you approach being a "pro", ie being a dancer for a sports team or back up dancer or something, the more you throw yourself to the floor or are meant to be flexible beyond having clean lines and/or are expected to be 'sexy'. But as with the downsides of ballet these are also things that are avoidable or changeable? And saying that no one should dance as a sport ever is not the correct answer?

I need to let it go. I just have a lot of thoughts after seeing that

So um... I just got done with my theatre performance of Wicked. I played Galinda. On the way home, my Dad said "Shit. We need lightbulbs. I'll just go to Menards right here."

We pull into Menards, and go into the store. Then I realise...

I'm walking into a hardware store, dressed as fucking Galinda. Huge ass crown, puffy white dress, full face of pink make up and sparkly shoes.

What the fuck.
