Obligatory introductory post:

Hey everyone, nice to meet you! The blog's a little barren atm, but I promise I'm not a bot. I've been on tumblr for yonks but it was time to start fresh. I'm normally a serial fandom girlie, into one thing almost exclusively for a few years until a new shiny interest comes along. The second season of my last show both let me down and changed the vibe of the fandom, so I found myself pulling back before I was ready to let go. So far, there's been no shiny new interest on the horizon. I'm not used to tumblring without a fandom, but I missed this place, so I'm going to just try out posting a little bit of whatever catches my fancy. Could be fun :)

May 2025 edit: I've fallen into the sadly underpopulated fandom of the sadly underappreciated series Grimm. I first watched it a few years ago and greatly enjoyed it, but was still too into the previous fandom to get fully pulled in. That wasn't a problem this past spooky season when I watched again and the interest has fully bloomed now. I've changed my url from oolongshot to the-grimm-steeper accordingly. There will still be random stuff posted but this is now a Grimm blog.

Looking through the abstract photography tag, I wonder if half the posters actually know what abstract means. If you look at it and immediately know what you're looking at, is it really abstract? Or am I the one who doesn't get it? A lot of the time, it isn't even taken from an unusual angle or of a particularly odd subject.

It's just more of an observation than an actual gripe and I'm not adding it to the tag or anything. I get wanting to add more tags for visibility or having seen the term used very broadly and assumed it was accurate. There's plenty of good stuff in the tag, accurately labeled or not. Just one of those things you keep noticing that low key strikes a wrong note.

If television has taught me anything, it's to get a parrot so I can be sure to call out the name of anyone who murders me while they do it because the bird will definitely repeat the damning phrase to the brilliant detective later, despite only having heard it once.
