She wasn't exactly new to this, but it had been so long she might as well have been. Something in her heart told her though that she wouldn't regret this; She wanted him, as a lover, a combat partner, a mate, and it told her that'd never change in this life time. Maybe something missing from those other times was that she felt no real connection, maybe joining the Express was a blessing in more ways than one.
Yan Xue trusted Dan Heng.
A small gasp escapes her, shuddering at the feeling of teeth, but she only moves to shrug off her dress more, give him more room. She wouldn't be surprised if he could feel he heart beating out of her chest at this point.

Artemis had believed that she would be able to follow Verona to the ends of the world. In fact, she nearly did as they were both ready for their trek to the Summit. With Millenium Opus in one hand, the keybearer had used the sleeve of her free arm to wipe the sweat and dirt off her forehead. Yet, she doesn’t know what had prompted her to ask if she’d see her again when the keybearer planned to stay.
Still, even with everything going absolutely wrong, apparently, the Valkyrie felt the same sinking feeling as she did. Something, someone, was out of place and wrong. Something was wrong, but it was Verona who immediately realized that it was her. The silence is deafening.
By all rights, Artemis shouldn’t even be in Fantasia in what appears to be in its final moments or even before then. She did not belong in its history, not even as a mention. Long before this moment, the Keybearer had broken the World Order for many reasons including her effort to obtain Fantasia’s supposedly “legendary” weapon. [The Council certainly had their field day and their annual aneurism when they realized she has it.] But, the World Order never accounted for falling in love.
The Keybearer thought she had misunderstood her lover at first and she turns towards her. When she realizes what she is saying, Artemis tries to get a word in, but Verona is adamant that she leaves Fantasia. Stunned into silence, her grip on Millenium Opus grows slack and the keyblade disappears from her hand. Of all the times before when the Valkyrie has asked her to stay, it is now when her own Heart is screaming at her to stay when the other wants her to leave.
Her own expression is one of despair. Lips quivering and her own eyes tearing up. The keybearer doesn’t know if they were tears of rage or of anguish. She only knew that she couldn’t follow her to the end of the line.
Stepping forward, Artemis approaches her lover until she is close enough for her to tiptoe and cup Verona’s face in her hands. She pulls her down to meld her lips with her own; one last, warm kiss. She can taste smoke and something sweet, the taste that leaves her breathless. The moment lingers before the keybearer pulls away and raises a hand to open the Corridor to Darkness behind her.
Facing her lover, the keybearer slowly steps back into the Corridor to Darkness. “Come back alive...Okay?” They both knew in their Hearts that this quiet request is one that Verona couldn’t keep. Artemis did not want to say goodbye or else her fears would become permanent, so, she didn’t. It was a hopeful wish in a situation that is hopeless, even after the Corridor of Darkness finally closes in on her. And, left Verona all alone.
