I think the reason the new Lil Nas X video upsets so many men is because they aren’t used to seeing their bodies so sexualized.

Women are.

These men are having to see themselves portrayed in a similar way so many young girls grow up seeing women objectified, hyper sexualized, and exploited.

We’re just desensitized to it.

You know what I hate more than my appearance? The fact that I hate it.

I know that I shouldn’t assess my worth based off how I look. I know its something that’s been instilled in me by a fucked up male oriented society. Yet no matter how much I remind myself of that, it never makes me feel any better about my body.

I don’t know what to do.

I envy women who resist beauty standards.
