Honestly I feel,,,conflicted about the use of “isn’t she lovely” in episode 9.
Like I don’t fully mind and even think the attached interpretation of the song being about a closeted trans person (jax) is pretty cool
But I’m also really fucking scared that the original interpretation of the song, that being about a black man celebrating the birth of his daughter, is going to get overshadowed by conversations about this lanky purple bunny.

ok yes I KNOW these are the most “water is wet” headcanons ever but what can I say?
Explanations!
Let’s start w/ Ribbit! The flags there are “bisexual” (attraction to both men and women) and “demigirl” (spectrum of nonbinary to feminine fluid gender identity). Spoilers for Ep9!!! Ribbit is an ex-Mormon and so you know I had to hook her up w as many reasons to feel dysphoria in that as I can. But more seriously I feel like she truly understood Jax and considering I subscribe to Trans!Jax I just see her having personal experiences with gender identity crisis, however I still think Ribbit is a woman and I see her as AFAB so demigirl felt right in my soul. As for Bi? Idk it just felt right in my soul chat.
Ragatha, come on man, she’s such a useless “lesbian” (women who love women!! Or feminine adjacent people loving other feminine adjacent people) who spent half her life in denial and shame over it. Look at her. Look at how she treats the feminine cast bro. This one’s just canon atp.
Kinger and Queenie, lumping the married couple together, they’re so deeply in love and Kinger is overwhelming cis to me it’s insane. I respect ppl who view him as not but holy he’s overly supportive straight cis dad of the century. As for Queenie, we don’t know much about her so I imagine her to be very similar to her husband. (They are specifically straight/cis allies, non homophobic supportive ppl).
Kaufmo, he just strikes me as your token straight cis man (said with all the love in my heart). No big deep reasoning lol
Caine, the flag I put for him is the “Aspectrum” flag! It includes anyone who may be underneath the “A” categories, those who are “aromantic” adjacent (people who have little to no interest in romantic relationships) or “asexual” adjacent. I put the spectrum flag because Caine to me has such a specific vibe that I could search and never find a specific enough flag, I briefly considered that it’d be close to “Asexual + Panromantic” (someone who has little to no interest in sex but is interested in dating anyone regardless of/without seeing gender). But that didn’t feel right to me..
Bubble, “Demiboy” (same thing as the Demigirl from earlier but with masculine instead of feminine). Bubble just struck me as definitely masculine but not quite cis.. as for the other flag that is the “straight (homophobic)” flag. In reality I think bubble would probably be pro-sex, anti-romance but the homophobic bubble image makes me laugh so..
Pomni, “bisexual” (go back up to Ribbit if you’re looking for a short explanation!). I mean, she clearly had a thing for Gummygoo even if it was just platonic, Ragatha called it flirting and Pomni kind of strikes me as batting for both teams. (I swear there were times Pomni showed interest in both men and women but maybe I’m going crazy). I should mention I wanted to put a touch repulsed / ambivalent on there but I fear I’d have to do that for all my headcanons so that’s gonna wait for another day..
Gangle, “bisexual, preference for women/feminine adjacent folk”, the flag I used for the bi flag has a larger pink section not to represent women but to represent same sex attraction! I think Gangle is more into woman then men but I do think she still likes men.
Zooble, “pansexual” (equal attraction to all genders to the point one does not ‘see gender’) and “genderqueer” (not fitting into a gender binary, this is different than nonbinary too). I think Zoobles gender is simply their gender and I think just using genderqueer represents this best.
Jax, Daisy, “Jax” to me is trans AMAB (assigned male at birth) but very deeply truly a woman. If you want to know why, check the trans Jax tag for such smarter analysis than I could ever hope to give. As for the lesbian tag, I think it’s a reasonable conclusion to make with the only time we see Jax showing interest in a man being Caine (as a distraction) and Kaufmo (which is so clearly painfully platonic to me). I think Daisy has extreme internalized homophobia and transphobia and would NEVER admit it to herself as she is currently.. but maybe a “Leeroy” somewhere out there can realize she was meant to be a Lena.
Little note at the end! While I want to preface by saying that I myself am queer, I am by no means an expert on queer identities and in the end this is all for fun! Real queer identities can be super complex or as simple as “it’s just how I feel” and that’s so cool. If I got anything phrased offensively lmk, I am interested in learning more abt my community and part of that is not accidentally saying some offensive bs.
With that out the way, these ARE MY interpretations! It’s totally chill if you don’t agree, I think that’s really cool that we can disagree but both find meaning from the same show
