she's got a verbal translation spell running that lets her speak the language and be understood but it does not work for written word so she's legit just bluffing her way through anything written based on context clues and subtly nudging other people such as ace to read the info for her lmao

talkin about this with @shiinjiiru but given how leanne's magic works, since it's explicitly unrelated to devil fruits and how they function and is, essentially, a completely separate system sea prism stones don't work on her

you can not stop her from using magic with physical means like sea prism cuffs or nails or whatever the way you can a devil fruit.

the only way to cage her and make her stay her hand is metaphorically. you need a hostage situation. you need to hold the people she cares about over her head and place their lives in her hand. no magic or they die is the only leash you've got.

the one piece timeline bc i finally hammered it out! mostly. it's mostly hammered out. reminder that this is specifically in relation to the traveling with ace ( @/darkbets) -> traveling with law (@/niightwcves) main branch of op verse. things can and will be wiggled around depending on what gets plotted with people and branch off as needed. but this can be considered the "main" op verse.

-> first arrives in op dimension

-> meets zoro (@/kaizokugaris) prior to his introduction to luffy; briefly hangs out with him before splitting off on her own again (this has been discussed in vague terms dw about it)

-> meets ace (@/darkbets) 3 months before alabasta. travels with him until he meets with luffy and crew in alabasta. (follows anime version of events here where ace travels with them towards yuba before splitting after confirming scorpion never met blackbeard)

-> spends the next nine months-ish traveling with ace after he splits from luffy again. when ace infiltrates the marines in the one cover story and gets info on blackbeard and his confirmed location, she and ace split. he sends her towards whitebeard with a letter explaining the situation, with the promise they'll meet up again on the ship once he handles blackbeard. ace heads for banaro islance and blackbeard.

-> leanne finds out about ace being turned in to the marines from the news when everyone else does.

-> she goes to marineford with everyone else. she does not fight. she's left on the underwater ship, and doesn't surface until akainu melts the ice and the secret ship surfaces. she's forced to watch as ace sacrifices himself for luffy.

-> fiddly bits here i haven't quite figured out yet where she realizes boa hancock's tracking law's sub somehow, and therefore luffy. dunno how she jumps ships to join boa yet but she does, and asks to come with them to amazon lily. she frames it as a promise she made to ace to protect luffy in his place if the worst ever happened, though ace had framed it as a hypothetical when he asked lmao and she never expected it to happen.

-> she goes to amazon lily. this is where the current law thread with niightwces is taking place! she joins law here as part of their deal

wakes up this morning with the knowledge she is never going to be able to pronounce roronoa correctly and will, inevitably, default to calling zoro roro after like an hour of trying

this will inevitably happen with like, 95% of the people she meets in OP verse, she can't say their name correctly so they either get nicknamed or their names get mangled. nami ace and luffy and the skeleton are the only ones actually safe from this problem of the straw hats crew
