Herbert didn’t quite realise the effect operation blackout would have on his relationship with Ace, after his failure he assumed the situation would melt back to normal only to get a shock when Ace for several months refused any sort of banter with him. Herbert really F-Ed up.

Head anon that after Op:B AA had to cover for it somehow as to who all these agents were who had been in the news, and because she had been under Ice and honestly stressed to god she just internally panics and goes “my employees”. so now “officially” Rookie, Jet & Dot (& Ace) are ‘totally’ reporters for AA. Yessiree no secret organisation here Herbert sure was one crazy fella targeting reporters as enemies. Maybe he should cut back on the seaweed.

remember these golden Herbert statues around club penguin island during operation blackout?
I think that the EPF wouldn’t keep it around for later use or put it in the I.C.E. because it just brings back unpleasant memories to some agents who were sent into hiding; and to others the memories of being captured and frozen,,,,,,
so they melted the statues down and turned it into the Puffle Freedom statue that you can get at the end of Operation Puffle
I know you did this months ago, but do you have any other headcanons about everyone worrying about the Agent/Ace?
You know…I had something in my drafts about this. Like when I first started and wrote the fic about Ace telling Rookie of their depression or so. Like I wrote something by itself and never posted it. So…I’m gonna use that since it answers it i feel.
Er Depression and other things
Also, this is long and has the after effects of Operation Black Out.
Word Count: 1258
Agent first told Rookie about their depression and such in the past. Ace being more comfortable with opening up to Rookie than to anyone else.
How they didn’t really care if they were to get hurt, and well…
Rookie was freaked about it that they cried in front of Agent.
Ace promised him that they would go to Rookie whenever they were feeling like that again.
Ace did a few times. They are usually greeted by food and movies.
Other times Rookie would be in Agents house. Just sitting on the couch with food and stuff ready.
Honestly, Agent thinks Rookie has a 6th sense of knowing how they feel.
The two wouldn’t talk about it unless Agent opens up to Rookie first. Rookie would just act that everything is normal.
Which comforts Agent. For some reason, for Ace, the idea of things just being normal, okay, even when they weren’t…was comforting? The whole eyes on them thing just freaks them out the most. Unless it gets super bad, Rookie will approach.
One time Jet was in Rookie’s house, grabbing his outfit that Rookie borrowed. Seeing Agent come into Rookie’s igloo like that freaked out Jet.
Jet beat it out of Agent about what’s wrong.
Jet wasn’t that surprised, but at the same time was worried.
Unlike Rookie, Jet spilled it to G and Dot. Fearing that something bad might happen if he didn’t. Cause hey, it’s best for everyone to know? Honestly, he thought that the two already knew.
Agent at first was upset but figured that it’s best for them to know. So they came clean when questioned.
Which, to G and Dot, they were so worried. So they wanted to make sure that Ace would be okay and fine.
And Ace told them that they will let the two know when things get bad.
But sometimes they won’t so the two would have to step in.
And that has happened a few times.
One when Ace’s anxiety and everything about the Popcorn bomb blew up, and the after-effects of Operation Black Out.
Yet Operation Black Outfucked everyone up in a way or two.
(Er I didn’t do Operation Black Out but, here’s some of the after effects) (Since I now did OP:BO in CPR I can say i did)
Ace worked over time. More like doesn’t try to sleep at all while they were in a frenzy with trying to capture Herbert and protect the other agents.
Ace tried to convince the others to have an agent guarding them at home or if they are in a place where they’re alone.
G, Dot, and Rookie were fine with that. Jet and The Director refused.
Honestly, Agent didn’t ask The Director, because hell if they are going to step on someone’s flipper, but Jet refused cause they are too proud.
Yet Jet would try to join Agent on their missions, or Agent would visit their igloo with food and drinks.
Jet has a phobia of crabs now.
Jet was the first one to see Ace slipping away. He tried to get Ace to relax, but that didn’t work.
Honestly, Ace could be more stubborn than Jet at these times.
Because of Agent just constantly working, they almost had a nasty encounter with Herbert, but hey! They found his whereabouts! Isn’t that good?
The Squad would have been proud if it didn’t seem like Agent was going to collapse from a strong gust of wind.
This called for an emergency meeting for the lot of them. In the form of a sleepover. At Ace’s place, without Ace knowing.
Ace just came to feed their puffles for the morning, they turn their lights on to find them all in their house. With sleeping bags.
Ace ignored it, thinking it was their mind playing tricks. Happens a lot when you go weeks without sleep. Gotta find that polar bear!
Until Jet threw a pillow in their face. That caused them to realize it was happening.
Ace was going to ignore it until G said that if they don’t join, they will be suspended.
The moment Ace was forced to plop down on a soft area, they passed out.
A day later Agent woke up, looking around, they found the others still there. Ace thought they slept for a few minutes until Rookie said “Man Ace! You slept for a whole day!”
After Agent was rested up, the lot of them began talking about their encounters.
G was first, even though he tends to be calm, it was hard for him to talk about it. That’s why the lab at first was out in the EPF building being rebuilt because he was alone when he was caught.
He became afraid of being alone when working in his lab. Now he would either have an assistant or have the doors locked real tight.
He damned himself for saying how he talked about the invention that Herbert wanted, that he caused all of this stuff to happen. How it was all his fault.
Agent just saw a lot of themselves in there when G said that. Just feeling guilt for not getting that dastardly polar bear.
What’s worse was that Agent was going to respond to the call, yet was too late and missed G.
Dot tried to infiltrate into Herbert’s lair and got caught, which to them was an experience. They weren’t too upset about it, yet it still shook her up. Just being in that tube and frozen like.
Rookie at first tried to look for Agent, but during their search, was caught by the Polar Bear. Unlike the other two, Rookie was asked questions where the other’s whereabouts were. Rookie didn’t know, so he was just thrown and frozen.
Rookie knew that the last tube was for Agent. Because “Agent will come here, sooner or later, we are enemies. I would expect nothing less from them! It’s just a when!”.
Jet tried to get the others free, but was caught and almost drowned by crabs. When in Herbert’s clutches he tried to lunge at him, which got him iced.
Took Jet a while to get used to swimming again, yet he will never want to see a crab again.
While The Director wasn’t there, it was found out that The Director came quietly. Since they knew their agents would save them.
Agent was just so, so shocked by all this and felt so guilty.
When asked Agent was doing. Agent just got silent before talking.
They didn’t run away really, instead, they stayed at a friend’s place while they were working with the EPF.
Agent was one of the first penguins they saw when freed.
Agent was hugged by them all after they all were freed, just being so happy to be free, free and safe.
Honestly, Agent was going to chase Herbert and get him, yet they decided that going to their friends were more important.
Agent tried their best to keep up a cool composure. Just looking stone cold and happy that their friends were safe.
Agent just wants to forget to see them all frozen in there.
And the last tube that was for them. It just made their stomach turn into lead.
After that chat, the lot of them were just…scared? They just all felt violated and hurt.
While Agent felt Survivor’s Guilt for not being taken. Which hell, they saved the lot, but still. Why them?
They all for that week just gave each other support, food, and movies, lots and lots of movies.
