The Matryoshka Doll  /  GIOVANNI & SHEHROZ.     Someone with layers, and a painted surface hiding deep intricacy below. A person who changes completely in a blink of an eye, a person with contradictions but something cohesive holding everything together.

The Web-Weaving Spider  /  OPAL & ACEROLA.     Canny, strange, mischievous, someone who looks villainous without meaning real malice, someone who understands more than everyone else, someone who builds things unseen.

The Lionheart  /  SVEN.     The loyal one, the stubborn one, the one who fights for others. The guarder, the watcher, the brave, foolish, valiant person who is not the same person by the end of the story.

opal would be the worst therapy patient. does the "can I have your ______" trick at every chance and ends up walking away with their name, pronouns, birthday, life history, deepest fears and fondest memories

not only that, but you'll get nothing useful out of her. "do you want to talk about your problems?" absolutely not, but she'll talk for hours about the first time she found a corpse that'd fallen prey to the shiinotic. got dead body stories for days

got my ladies on the brain tonight, so here's a little wishlist I guess

those who know of opal from her younger training days (she has been at it for seventy years, after all!) and her reputation for being a deliberately tricky opponent to beat. could be fans, other professionals, or just people passing through ballonlea and learning about its head

also: aus where she found a successor that wasn't bede. what is the 'pink' she's looking for? does it manifest differently from person to person?

people who admire fantina as a master coordinator first and foremost and keep up with her performances and judging panels. people interested in her pokemon research and/or her stories of kalos and sinnoh and how they differ! people who respect her multiple careers and value her beyond how difficult her pokemon battle may or may not be

kalos stuff in general for fantina, tbh. I know pokefrance must love her, and she loves it! let her talk about it and the people she knows!

opal’s stadium battles are notorious for their audio glitches. people often report hearing multiple voices where there should just be hers, many of them a completely different pitch, accent, or even far more masculine than you’d expect from an eighty-eight year old lady

if asked about them she always laughs them off, excuses the odd feedback as poorly-functioning equipment that’s often affected by the spores floating in from the nearby Tangle

the more detective-minded amongst galar’s fanbase have even managed to split these ‘glitches’ up into separate sound files, though annoyingly they seem to change season to season. some have even pointed out that they always seem to align with the most recent missing persons cases related to the tangle - similar accents, similar pitches, one even a perfect mimic of an overly-ambitious vlogger who wandered off the trail in search of the forest’s secrets - but these have been mocked as stretching conspiracy theories
