School was out for the summer, but that didn’t mean the faculty of the university stopped working the whole time. Especially her husband, who didn’t seem to ever enjoy not taking things super seriously. It was a cover job. He didn’t need to perform it perfectly.
Then again, Dain’s work ethic was one of the reasons why Opal had grown to love him, and why her kingdom ran as smoothly as it did despite her thirst for chaos.
“Don’t tell me you’re going to spend the entire summer locked up in this stuffy old office,” she said as she pushed open his door and stepped inside, still in her student glamour, just in case other faculty were around.
