Song Review: Noah Beatz - “Open Blue”

It sounds pretty much like a leftover from Dire Straits. But “Open Blue” is not a a leftover from Dire Straits.

It’s the latest single from Noah Beatz, the guy who plays every instrument on his studio recordings and plays the guitar and sings uncannily like a chap called Mark Knopfler.

Beatz’s voice is slightly deeper and lyrics such as, I lean into the open blue/no up, no down/just moving through are obscured by a touch of echo.

In any event, Beatz cuts through this “Open Blue” with pinprick guitar notes and a solid rhythm section that propels the music forward while looking back to early Straits. It’s not terribly original, but Beatz’s talent oozes out of the speakers on numbers such as this.
