Athena or as she was more commonly known, 'Pallas Athena' was the daughter of the King of the Gods, Zeus and Metis, one of the Titans. Athena was known as the goddess, presiding over the following deities; wisdom, courage, civilisation, inspiration, law and justice, warfare, strength and many others. She, along with Ares, Apollo and Artemis, was a war god, called to fight in battle with their father, Zeus whenever needed. Athena was often seen as shrewd and a virgin goddess, protecting her virtue on Olympus proved hard however. Though, the people of Athens, the city which she was the patron goddess of, worshipped her, and kept her strong among the wandering hands of the gods.

Athena is known for her use of logic and strategy, and resorts to combat only as a last resort. She would much rather use strategic skill to conquer any fight of sorts. She has many symbols in the Ancient world, her most famous symbol is that of her trusty owl, who is her eyes in the dead of night. Both make a great team, with their cunning and wisdom, Athena and her owl are a match made upon Olympus. She is the third born of Zeus, her older siblings are Artemis and Apollo, with whom she shares her skills in combat of hunting. One time she did use her combat skills was when her brother, Hephaestus tried to court her, she eluded him, remaining chaste and from his attempted coupling, a child was born; Erichthonius, whom Athena raised as her own.

In Dubai however, Athena is a far cry from combat. She is a teacher, working with the second grade in an international franchised school, in the heart of the city. Athena is a favored character among her students, and she often tries to give them first hand accounts of what Ancient Greece was like 'in her day'. Of course, her students all think she's just a fantastic story-teller, but they don't know the half of it.

❝I'm friends with the monster that's under my bed.

Medusa

                        Medusa was once one of Athena's guards. The once beautiful mortal was the protectress over Athena's temple. It was so until Poseidon tried and succeeded in claiming her virginity. Outraged, Athena presented a curse over her, turning her into a mirror image of her sisters, the Gorgons.

Hephaestus

                       One of Athena's brothers and also one of the unsuccessful consorts who had attempted a forced courtship upon the young, virgin goddess, which in turn resulting in a child being born from the Earth (Gaia), whom Athena then raised.

Zeus

                        As Athena's father, Zeus had certain duties to upload, one being to determine who was the fairest goddess on Olympus. The choices were between Aphrodite, Athena and his own wife, Hera. Zeus was not able to decide and palmed the decision onto a young prince.

Aphrodite was born of the sea, from the foam produced when Uranus' genitals were thrown from Olympus to the sea by Cronus. From the moment Zeus saw her, he tried to pursue her, her beauty was almost unbearable according to many around her. It was her beauty that caused many rivalries upon Olympus, and even amongst the mortals below, on Earth. So, before the arguments could get out of hand, Zeus married Aphrodite to he and Hera's crippled son, Hephaestus in hopes of quashing any further quarrels between men. Hephaestus, given his appearance was not seen as a threat to any of the more attractive males around Olympus, and so Aphrodite and the Olympians were safe. 

Even with the promise of no other quarrels amongst the Olympians, Aphrodite set her sights on another; Ares. She and Ares conceived eight children including Phobos, Deimos, and Harmonia. She then went on to have a child (Rhode) with Poseidon, two with Hermes, and another with Zeus, among many other Gods. Although she was married to Hephaestus, she never bore any of his children. He eventually caught she and Ares in a trap, displaying their tryst to the other Gods before Poseidon persuaded him to release the lovers.

In Dubai, Aphrodite is the Editor in Chief of Arab Cosmopolitan, which she oversees the relationships section. She has become somewhat of a local celebrity, and even though she enjoys the attention, specifically from males, she does get somewhat annoyed and often uses her position to take vacations for 'research purposes'.

Hephaestus

                        Hephaestus is Aphrodite's husband, the two barely see each other now though, and are planning to divorce later in the year when they both have the time to get together to discuss the papers and their assets.

Ares

                       Ares is one of Aphrodite's many lovers in Dubai, she and Ares share several children, whom are all independent and rising to their own power, just like their father.

Hermes

                        Hermes is the father to two of Aphrodite's children, the messenger of the Gods was one of the many men who fell for her beauty and was able to come to her bed and make love to her.

❝Home is wherever I'm with you.

Artemis is the daughter of Zeus and Leto, and the twin of Apollo. She is known as the goddess of the hunt, wild animals and the wilderness, childbirth, virginity and the protector of young girls. She is often flanked by her wild dogs and occasionally other wild animals. She is also known to bring and relieve diseases in women, typically those who are pregnant. It is her (and twin brother, Apollo's) birth that was the rooted cause for her bringing disease and obstacles to pregnant women, as her own mother suffered a difficult time whilst in labor with she and Apollo, and into their delivery on the island of Delos, which had been denied by Hera who had been jealous that Zeus had fathered the babies to Leto. As Artemis was born, she aided her mother in the delivery of her twin brother, Apollo, for Leto was struggling with the birth. 

Artemis and Hera were the two goddesses constantly vying for Zeus's appreciation and attention. Hera would become jealous of a child, and Artemis would ask her father to watch her as she practised archery. On one occasion, Hera was so jealous with Artemis holding Zeus' attention from his own wife, that she thrashed the young girl, which in turn sent her weeping into her father's lap. There, she asked her father to grant her six wishes, which he did, in an instant further angering Hera. The jealous matches and bitching between the two goddesses continued, and Artemis stood above the situation as she grew into a young woman, finding her own path, but still returning to daddy whenever she needed him. 

Artemis, upon returning to Olympus with the other Gods, changed her image. She transferred herself into a college, in her final year, and enrolled on a specialized veterinary psychology course, specifically aimed at canine behaviors. With the upkeep of her dogs back on Mount Olympus in Ancient Greece, the college course was a walk in the park for Artemis, however she found she had a new challenge in life; retaining her chastity whilst at college.

Apollo

                        Apollo is Artemis's twin brother, whom she helped deliver during childbirth. She and Apollo both share a thirst for knowledge and see a lot of beauty in nature and animals. The twins are the prize archers among the Olympians and are often called upon first when in battle.

Zeus

                       Artemis and Zeus had a good relationship as the young girl grew, she was supported by her father, who enjoyed her company and often shared stories with her. Artemis enjoyed her father's company more than anybody on Olympus.

Leto

                        Leto is Artemis and Apollo's mother, she and Artemis began a strong relationship when a young Artemis helped her mother to deliver her twin brother, Apollo. Leto was also seen as the caregiver to Artemis, often collecting her bows and arrows before a war.

Hera is the Greek goddess of familial love, heaven, marriage, motherhood, and women. She is the eldest sister and wife of  Zeus, making her Queen of Olympus. After the First Titanomachy ended, Zeus sought after Hera, but she rejected his advances. Zeus then transformed himself into an injured bird and as she took the bird in her arms, he assumed his true form. Although she was upset with his deception, she eventually married him and became the Queen of the gods. Over time, Zeus became unfaithful to her, and had many children with mortal women. Hera gave birth to Hephaestus, without the aid of any man as she was jealous that Zeus had borne Athena by himself. When Hera saw the unsightly appearance of her son, she was disgusted and threw him off Olympus, crippling him forever. 

Hera carries great loathing for the illegitimate children and mistresses of Zeus, though for good reason as she is the goddess of marriage. Therefore, she is often portrayed as being extremely jealous of Zeus’ mistresses and hates the other offspring. She is seen as often aware of Zeus’ various affairs, many times thwarting them and tricking him into getting what she wants. Though perhaps her anger should be more keyed toward her husband, Hera seems to gain revenge by punishing the women involved as well as the children that result from his affairs, though this may be because Zeus is the more powerful than her. As goddess of marriage, Hera is “used to perseverance,” and is always reconciled with Zeus despite his frequent infidelity.

In Dubai however, the star couple seem to be all lovey-dovey, but is it just for the cameras? Hera tries to work with Zeus, given their busy schedules, they rarely see each other which proves hard for Hera to keep tabs upon her husband and young women, especially given the business her husband is in; hotels. Despite his mis-doings with other women, and on occasion, a lucky man, with the rareity of actually seeing each other, Hera and Zeus are like magnets, drawn together in an instant, and should anybody disturb them, the wrath of both storm and a woman in a jealous rage would not be something one would want upon their head.

❝If I ain't got you.

Zeus

                        Zeus is Hera's husband, but first and foremost, he is her brother. Zeus and Hera have definitely had their fair share of difficult times, generally caused by Zeus and his massive ego, and urge to satisfy his sexual appetite. However, the two work so well together, the Olympians often wonder why they were overthrown.

Demeter

                        Demeter is Hera's slightly older sister, they are the closest in age of the six siblings of Cronus and Rhea. Demeter is somewhat skittish and Hera is the only one, aside from Persephone (and prescribed medications), who is able to calm her down when things are rough.

Ares

                        Ares is the son of Hera and Zeus, and known as the Greek God of war. Although he is the most hated of Zeus's children, he is Hera's favorite, her eldest boy, and in her eyes, the most perfect in relation to Hephaestus, her crippled son.

❝I've got a love and I know that it's all mine.

Persephone is the daughter of Demeter and Zeus, a conquest that enraged a jealous Hera and brought her a niece. Although Hera was enraged, she was somewhat excited for her sister, as even without taking Zeus from her sister, she was still happy that Persephone had been the result. Early in life however, with Demeter's over-protectiveness of her daughter, Persephone spent most of her waking moments at her mother's side, following her, serving her in some ways, and learning from her. It wasn't until she was a teenager did Persephone tire of her mother smothering her, and not allowing her to behave as a normal teenage girl would do, like her friends, her siblings.

When she tired of Demeter's company, Persephone allowed herself to make her own mistakes. The first and only mistake she made was picking flowers alone (without the company of her mother, she was surrounded by nymphs), and Hades appeared from the ground, tearing it open as he arose. He had been spying upon Persephone for a while, and now with the nymphs scattered in a panic, he was able to kidnap the young girl, and take her back to the Underworld with him on his chariot. This is turn caused her mother to abandon her duties as a goddess in order to search for missing Persephone, leading to the crops dying. Hades bargained with Persephone, giving her six pomegranate seeds, which meant she would stay with him for six months of the year, and return to Olympus for the remaining six.

Persephone spends a lot of her time travelling, searching for herself with her husband, when he can fix himself time away from his duties. She is a freelance photographer, hired by large companies to shoot for their magazines, websites, events, which leads to travelling for extended periods of time. Persephone mostly photographs for natural or agricultural features, for home and garden based magazines, but has been known to shoot for outdoor weddings, some of which she has collaborated with Hera for.

❝Regals collect like old friends.

Hades

                        Hades is Persephone's long-suffering and patient husband, he is used to her temper tantrums and at times childish behavior. He and Persephone often book mini vacations, just to get away from the turbulent times in Dubai, surrounded by the other Olympians.

Demeter

                        Demeter is Persephone's mother, a mother who is not so approving of the relationship her daughter and her brother (Persephone's uncle) have. She and Persephone were once close, until the girl decided she wanted to do things for herself and made her own mistakes, leading to the very relationship Demeter loathes so much.

Zeus

                        Persephone, as the daughter of Zeus and Demeter made her an important Goddess in the Olympian chain. She and Zeus didn't entirely have a relationship as she grew, however when she was abducted by Hades, Zeus forced his brother to deliver the girl back to Olympus unscathed.

❝We started out friends.

Hebe is the daughter of Hera and Zeus, and the sister of Ares, Eris, Enyo, Hephaestus and Eileithyia. She also has many half siblings due to Zeus's infidelity to her mother. Some of her siblings include; Apollo, Athena, Persephone. With so many siblings and step-mothers, and sisters that are cousins, family life can be quite confusing, especially for Hebe who even now has remained so innocent and unphased by the ways of the world, particularly evil. Some would say her parents sheltered her, handed her life on a silver platter.

As the daughter of the largest hotel tycoon in the Middle East, and the most sought after wedding/events planner, Hebe struggled to fit in with the other kids, as she tried to find her own niche, something that was unrelated to her parents. She originally tried to go into teaching the Kindergarten classes, but the other teachers thought her parents had put her up to it, to teach her some kind of labor lessons about earning for herself and she was discouraged, so instead Hebe settled for working behind the scenes with her parents, in particular for her mother, as her dresser for the events and galas.

Hebe is the goddess of youth, and was the former cupbearer to the gods. She was the one who served them their nectar and ambrosia. She did this until she was married to her half-brother Hercules, then Ganymede took her place. Hebe also drew baths for Ares and helped her mother Hera enter her chariot, as well as dress her. Hebe is a very kind and generous goddess, once granting her husband’s friend lolaus’ wish to become young again so he could fight Eurystheus. Hebe is also very forgiving, as she was often worshipped as the goddess of pardons and forgiveness. Freed prisoners would hang their chains in the sacred grove of her sanctuary Phlius. 

❝Everybody wants to rule the world.

Hera

                        Hera is Hebe's mother, the Queen of the Gods. She and Hebe have a strong familial relationship, and is one of Hera's favorite children. Hebe acts as Hera's dresser for any of the big events that occur in the Dubai and company social calendars.

Zeus

                        Zeus is Hebe's father, they do not exactly have a fantastic relationship, but he does not entirely ignore her either. Zeus often treats Hebe the way he treats Hera; when all is bad, he will come running back. However, of all of his children with Hera, Zeus was most excited about Hebe.

Heracles

                        Heracles is Hebe's lover, they have been courting for a while yet, they must keep their relationship a secret so as not to strike up any confrontation or angst between she and her mother, Hera. For Hera and Heracles are not entirely on speaking terms.
