Aranya designed by Openideas is a project driven by being close to nature, not in her refined, cultured form but more as an organic presence. The ultimate objective was to create a structure that would age gracefully and subsequently become a part of the landscape. Photography by Fabien Charuau.

A feature suggestion for Vine or Instagram
A few weeks ago, Kevin Systrom announced that Instagram will now support Vine; My mistake, I mean videos. At the end of the announcement, I was left feeling like I just wittiness remaking of the Soprano's ending. Since Instagram is just a content provider to Facebook, it makes sense to support videos. That part I totally understand, where the hell is the innovation?
I suggest a new feature in which I call "video collages".
Feature:
Allow members of (Vine or Instagram) to reuse segments of already existing videos in the video platform; video collages if you will.
The diagram below shows a logical representation of how Vine and Instagram allow users to construct videos. Each pause in the video is what I define as a segment. In the example below, there are 3 segments which could easily be reordered.
To support the video collage concept, users could easily locate an existing video on the platform and select a specific segment to be included in their video. In addition to using existing videos, the user could choose to record their own custom segment as well.
What's appealing to me are two key areas. The social collaboration or as I like to think of it, social openness and the other is the ability to monetize the feature.
The social collaboration is endless in terms of what could be generated. The ability to create video meme's all the way to the ability to collaborate on videos with celebrities or companies. The monetization of this feature could be done in multiple ways from sponsored campaigns and challenges.
I'll keep this post short since I need to get back to my research on patents and do more market research on my current idea.
Best regards, Richard L. Burton III @rburton
