Being assigned the investigation of the dead student was punishment and Belinda felt it. The Ministry wanted no dead students. That was practically her only job and she failed at it, pictures of Alice Irwin along with sensationalized titles covered city stands. Newspapers were hard to ignore but personal Hogwarts’ house calls from the Minister himself were even harder to avoid. And being scolded like a children, Belinda only felt worse about the entire situation.
Her one chance to prove herself and she failed. Completely and utterly.
The least she could do was investigation Alice’s death with her all. A soft, defeated sigh left her lips as she mindlessly spun the spoon in her cup with her finger. Distracted by her own thoughts, she hadn’t noticed another taking a seat next to her. All she could focus on was riddling herself with guilt.
